No matter the nature of your hustle or your level of motivation, there are times when it feels like you’re on a Chase to Nowhere. On a freshly-released album outtake (with accompanying visuals) from his next street album, QuEST gives fans a glimpse of his occasional self-doubts and hesitations, flowing over Mr. Familiar‘s moody sampling of Brian Protheroe’s Interview/Also in the Limelight. While this cut didn’t make the cut for Fear Not Failure, those digging Chase to Nowhere will undoubtedly find more to like on the LP, available online as of early April.

QuEST has skills, but not as a singer. This song, outtake or not, had promise until that chorus. His vocal is just not very good. He can work on it, though, and get marginally better. If not, hook singers are a dime a dozen these days. In fact, I bet T-Pain would offer a discount for work.

Would of been cool if this had made the Fear Not Failure track list. Nonetheless, I thought the track was well executed and you can clearly see that QuESt knows what he is doing on the mic.

I don't know what you're talking about about, Z. I'm sure this guy is no great singer, but the hook sounded fine to me. (Or at least a lot better than anyone does with autotune)

I actually love his vocals on the hook, fits the track. Like J.Cole's singing, you wither like it or you don't. QuESt is such a beast.
