For everyone who has been waiting patiently for A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip’s follow-up to his solo debut, Amplified, the wait is almost over.  On November 4, fans will finally get their hands on a copy of The Renaissance (presumably, on their way to vote in the U.S. presidential election).  On the album’s first single, Gettin’ Up, ‘Tip showed longtime fans that he is still in Vivrant Thing mode over the late J. Dilla‘s sample of Black Ivory’s You And I.  For the official remix, the original verses remain, though Swizz Beatz takes charge with a sample of the Puff Daddy classic It’s All About the Benjamins, and another emcee we haven’t heard from in a while spits twelve introductory bars.  That’s right; Eve is back and ready to rep for the ladies once again!

Hell yea! This song is sick! I love the Puffy sample, both artists go crazy on this one! Every song I've heard recently with sampled production has been on point, I'm very impressed. Eve brings it, hopefully this will be the spark that will finally get her album on the shelves. Tip is back, one of my all time favorites, I gotta show him some love.

i love (love) loveD Gettin up NOT as a remix, it was pretty chill though.. much more meaningful in its original versio.. but this remix is definetly still almost as go0d & that much easier to BuMP. Banger :)

The hook is horrible on this one and the beat seems out of place compared to Q-Tip. Production is alright but the beat is too repetitive. Like Q-Tip's MOVE song way better. Just a ok song

prolly wouldnt play it more than once or twice and definite not bangin. it sounds old, like late 90's ruff ryda stuff. prolly shouldnt have borrowed diddy's classic beat as it only goes well wit original track. verses were ok - eve was prolly better overall okay.

Oh man ! ya'll sleepin on this one? Hell na! This is my @*#$!! All about the Bengies sample. Sick bass line. I gotta admit the hook is alil off for the beat, but it's a remix. A far better version if I may add. Fire!!!!

Q-tip can't honestly think he's the #1 MC can he? This is just whatever, its lacking continuity from beginning to end.

The "All About the Benejamins" sample is sort of tyte. Overall, I wasn't feeling this track to much. The hook was definitely lacking, Eve is remotely pointless on the song. As I continued listening, Q-Tip's verses were pretty decent, especially his last one. The engineering mix sounds bad though. This was definitely better than last night's feature from Q-Tip though. I can throw it in rotation, but I probably won't be listening to it a whole lot.

The bass line rules this song. BDF - you hit it on the head.

well but the Puffy record isn't composed as well, its sampled and based on "Love Unlimited Orchestra - I Did It For Love"

Production is on point, I like it, it's energetic and catchy, but he's kinda boring. The hook sucks! OK

I think I'll just download the instrumental...actually idk, I just heard Eve's verse (haha the echo effect thing was hot). I'll give it 4 stars, but honestly, Q tip's voice is annoying. It's like Talib voice before puberty.
