For anyone with a short memory, it was less than six months ago, when lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger attempted a “Justin Timberlake.” In other words, she broke away from the rest of the dolls and tried her hand at a solo career. The difference of course between Scherzinger and Timberlake is that only the latter got it done. Now, reunited with her PCD family, Scherzinger reclaims her spot as lead vocalist and rocks out over a Darkchild beat on the group’s new single, When I Grow Up. Performed for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night TV show last week, the single is now available for purchase and leads off the group’s sophomore set, To Those Who Wait; for Scherzinger, this release cannot come soon enough.

I love nicole! I really do! This song is not 4 me. I guess it will work. I don't have a ear for music like this. its like askin me to critque a tecno song. I don't know if its good or not, caus ewhen I hear stuff like this it NEVER sounds good to me. But nicole is just... 2 stars for her alone!!!
Yeah, I agree that Nicole's solo plight was unsuccessful, and that truly, in my opinion, was due to her lack of creative and musical approach to her music. But her back with Pussycat Dolls is really smart, granted she's still a solo artist in PCD anyways...we don't know any other girl's name or even care about them when these PCD songs come out. LOL. This song is decent, but I definitely do not like this "crowded" sounding production, except for the breakdown.
I heard this song some days ago and I though it had a good beat...I put it in my mp3 player but I deleted it! To me it's not a suitable first single for their comeback! Don't Cha was an excellent song, this is just average. It'll work, they are the PCD, but I don't like it
i think PCD is getting worse and worse. Sigh. I dont get how Nicole is like the only one in it who sings and has most vocals but when she broke away she sucked... Well, i think this song is annoying.
looks like people are startin to realize that PCD wasn't that good to begin wit. Their big hit? Some song we've all heard before in some movie or tv show, and wit a line like "dontcha wish..." no girl would pass up the opportunity to sing it! now their lack of talent is clear to hear
I feel like this is a random selection by the PCD and affiliates (I'm sure they have a better single laying around). I know they can do better than this.
PRODUCTION SUCKS!!! wow i hate dis....but i agree wit not knowin da difference between pcd and nicole cuz dis jus sounds like her wit backgrounds....which is sad cuz she ant da only one dat can sing...donjonjon: dey ot dat bad...i liked "buttons"
the beat sucks big time, songwriting is ok. Rock City are on my radar since 3 years now. nothing ground breaking at all. Y'all A&R's, publishers, decicision makers etc. should stop dickriding all these major producers so fucking hard. they ain't coming with hits non stop. give upcoming producers a chance they have hotter shit to offer and they don't kill the budgets so you guys could finally sell CD's cheaper or invest in real artist development.
