Don Cannon

In the immortal words of Ice Cube, today is a good day. First Jay comes out of nowhere with Open Letter, then Kanye feels so inspired by Hov he decides to drop a Pusha T joint he had stored away in the vault. Numbers on the Boards’ production comes courtesy of Don Cannon, who crafts a far more sparse and stripped-down beat than we’re used to hearing back Push. (Bonus points if you recognized the Rhyme No More sample.) In addition to the remarkable production, lyrically Numbers is everything we’ve come to expect from the Clipse vet: unflichingly hard delivery paired with rewind worth lines like, “Mix drug and show money, Biggs Berke on tour / Twenty-five bricks, move work like chore.” We don’t currently have confirmation that Numbers on the Boards  will find its way onto Pusha’s upcoming My Name Is My Name album, or any larger project, but you know who can count on to keep you update. In the meantime, keep this on repeat…
