Some call them ‘social butterflies,’ some call them ‘teases,’ but just about everybody knows one of those girls who can’t go anywhere without working her mojo on every single guy in the room. On his latest single (making its online premiere at this very site), rising R&B star (and Best of the Booth ‘08 ‘Staff Pick’) Pure finds himself smitten with one of these preternaturally charming females—having had a Sample, he’ll do anything for another taste. Though it’s anyone’s guess whether the Newark native’s soulful entreaties will hit home (I’m inclined to be pessimistic; I know one such girl who’s racked up an entire mix CD’s worth of love songs from unsuccessful suitors), Pure’s catchy, falsetto-laced vocals, backed by the Venture Bros.’ bouncy blend of cowbell-driven percussion and staccato synth stabs, have more than enough pop appeal to leave the Booth’s resident R&B-lovers hooked. Just like all three of Pure's other Booth features, SAMPLE simply works. His plush, smooth voice is enjoyable on the eardrums and the simplistic production work allows his voice to never been outshined.

I was going to say this is basically similar to all other types of up and coming R&B we hear, but the production has some tweaks and surprises that make it worth the time. Vocals aren't hurting the ears either.

Nice song, interesting beat, easy on the ear type voice... lyrics??.. elementary, but lyrics that are easy to digest ... I was definitely waiting for a new Pure track & he somewhat delivers on this one ... not as good as "Walikn" tho ... Rotation.

First time hearing this dude and i'm not disappointed!!
His voice is smooth and the production started off like it was gonna be a club type beat but then i was surprised it was nice and chill!! Good track overall!! |

Liked the voice. I wish they would have just used a normal voice on the chant after the chorus. That part flowed well, but that voice was just too low.

THis artist continues to dare to be different with his songs. There's no other artist that sounds like him. I enjoy listening to something different. He is unpredictable and that is what I love about him! This record is definitely a summer record. Take your ice cream cones out ladies and start licking. lol!!
