An up-and-coming emcee who more than lives up to his troublemaking TV namesake, Pugslee Atomz has teamed up with fellow Chi-town native and veteran beatsmith Anton Genius to let all those who think they’ve got it poppin’ that They Ain’t.  Flexing his slow flow in two big-talking verses, Pugs makes it clear that, whether you’re talking about cash, jewels, or woman, he’s got the best of the best.  Though the subject matter’s nothing too surprising, the rapper’s cocky, every-so-slightly snide delivery, along with a few clever turns of phrase (“I been grindin’, like hashish in a jar/ Her mind’s open, her brain’s got me ajar.”) make the record an entertaining listen, and Genius’ sludgy synth-bass boardwork proves the perfect complement to Pugs’ nonchalant brand of braggadocio.  For more from Anton Genius, check out the beatsmith’s forthcoming collaboration album, In Genius They Trust (due out soon), and watch for Atomz’ contribution to our exclusive freestyle series to hit our front page sometime next month.

Not feelin it. The production was OK. His lyrics were nothing special. Nothing that captures my attention.

Um, I dunno why this random track just showed up...but...uh, I guess I'l rate it.

Production very nice. Like the guy's flow. I'll listen to this more than once. I'm gonna call it banger. Good first impression.

If I had a quarter for every time I accidentally set something live early, well, I wouldn't have to scrounge for change on laundry day.

This is a simple but hard beat. Not too much @oin on, but still mean. Pu@s flow matches that same statement. Not bad

Richard confused half our Resident DJs with 'behind the scenes' talk. Don't think too much, people.

Pugs has a very raw flow. He is beginning to real make some noise around my parts. His upcoming freestyle is straight up the first TRUE freestyle since Izza Kizza laid it down in one take.

It's a good song but there's something I don't like. The beat is interesting but maybe too simple, or maybe it doesn't feat his flow, which is really hot! I'd see other types of beats for his flow...there's too little music in here, I don't usually go mad for songs which are only beat and voice, music is very important to me. 2,5

@Richard - Yeah, I was kind of wondering laast night why this track appererd nd then disappeared. I thought I was just goin' crazy. Lmao.

But, I'm not crazy. This flow is fire, and he's supported by some amazing production. I support what I originally
