Pugs Atomz - Listen to My Album [Premiere]
Artist: Pugs Atomz
Producer: Dirty Dunnz
Album: Kinda Like a Mixtape
Label: Enohes Music
Ever popped a brand new CD into the stereo for the first time, only to realize that you’d been duped into dropping 17 bucks on an LP featuring two decent cuts and a metric crapton of filler? Of course you have. Pugs Atomz can relate – on mixtape leak Listen to My Album, making its world premiere right here in the Booth, the Chi-town native and Gent$ member describes that very scenario over the minimal, sample-driven boardwork of Dirty Dunnz, and takes pains to set himself apart from the rap game’s all-too-numerous hacks: “The difference between us: I’m a doer, you’re a try-er…. listen to my album, words to inspire.” Will Pugs succeed in bucking the unfortunate trend he describes here, and maintain this level of dopeness throughout his next street release? It seems likely, but we won’t find out for sure till May 24, when his Fakeshoredrive, Fatbeats, CoalMine Music, Inc. and DJBooth.net-presented Kinda Like a Mixtape will be available from our frontpage for the low, low price of free.

Never before has a message been conveyed so directly through a song title. Seriously, think about that one.
I'm a big fan of the choppy production and if its not too much of distraction for some of our while-online-multitasking members, many should be able to dig what Pugs is actually spitting. At a little under three minutes that shouldn't be too hard (unless you have HADD - Hip Hop Attention Deficit Disorder). Pugs, I agree with everything you said. |

Pugz has been releasing alot of new material lately, all of which follows a path that can only be described as creative and versatile. "Rocket Love" was not a track I was feeling a whole lot, but Pugz's new track "Listen to my Album" really has me looking forward to what is to come next.
The sample in the background of the production is without a doubt probably the biggest reason as to why people may not like this. I, on the other hand, enjoy it to the fullest extent. Dirty Dunnz production is simple, but Pugz does it justice with his simple yet effective word play. I could rock with this. Pugz is one of my top booth favorites and this record is a step in the right direction. Verses were on point and Hook was dope as well. |

Pugzy's back again lol. Yes the sample is pretty bad and actually prevents me from calling this a banger. Hooks nice and so are the verses. Can't stand the sample though so it thrwos me off. Good rap though.

Since I'm one of those "while-online-multitasking members" @DJ Z is referring to, I decided to stop what I was doing and listen to it without any distractions, and I have to say I agree with you Z.

I’ve never even heard of this guy Pugs before, but I agree with everything he said. And in my opinion the production by Dirty Drumz was great.
BANGER! |

Eject. Eject. Eject. Toss it out the Window. I can't count the times I've purchased a subpar album in the past and thought that same exact thing.

Loving the production on this one but the chorus could be improved. I feel the concept works, but the chorus seems to drain some of the energy from the track.

I don't know Z, Feelin On Yo Booty was a conveyed its message through its title pretty directly.
Feels like Pugz is everywhere lately, and I couldn't be happier about it. Believe me, I hear "listen to my album" about 100 times a day, and Pugz is right on. Is the beat a subtle reference to A Milli? |

@Nathan S. - Leave it up to R. Kelly to do what I clearly forgot has already been done. I knew you'd come up with something, too. You didn't disappointed, Nathan.

Might listen to his album after this one. The whole album thing is annoying throughout the song. Liking the beat on this. Reminds me of some DMC. His rapping is alright.

What he was spittin was really good. A different beat could have gone better with it, but altogether it was bomb.

Must say I'm surprised. This beat, usually not my style, but I kinda like it. His flow is on-point, at times leaving empty gaps, but it’s intentional and it works. So does hook which is somewhat original.
Count me convinced... just tell me when and where? May 24th on DJBooth.Net, eh? Okkaayy !!! |

"Eject Eject Eject Toss it out the window"
Definitely Catchy. Love the irony of a Rapper introducing his rap song saying there's an epidemic of everyone rapping. |
