Since the mid-’90s both Project Pat and UGK’s Pimp C have played the pimp game; they know “the rules.” So obviously they know if you try ”Talkin’ smart to a pimp, you dun broke the first rule.” As you would expect from collaboration between the two, Pat & Pimp are quick to show off their shine and put the ‘haters’ in their place. DJ Paul & Juicy J‘s production is softer than expected, so while you shouldn’t anticipate Talkin’ Smart to be a popular single (if it’s even chosen as one), it works as a solid addition to Pat’s sixth studio album, Walkin’ Bank Roll, set to drop October 30th.
I can see a lot of people on here liking this, I was brought up on crucial fast talented rap (in England) so this type of shit bores me. Pimp C to me, is very over rated, but I actually don't mind him on here...and Project Pat's verse is too short to say that this song is his.
This is HOTNESS! I really like the chorus and their flows are right on! Good job Project Pat and you better be on the next season of three-six mafia in Hollywood!!!
The man is talentless, his lyrics are wack, a great rapper (Nas) has great lyrics, hands down. His voice is just catchy, the same as a lot of rappers who are out, therefore he makes money to give you more songs... but there is not talent in having a catchy voice, if you have a catchy voice and great lyrics (Ludacris) then I have respect for you. And I love the south, Luda and Bun B are 2 of my favourites, so chill out son.
I would like to give this guy some props, but if I did, what would it be for.
I'm sorry this song is stupid
*lyrics count people*
I'm thats all to it but the beat isn't enough to carry this one!
some time beats do, but not this time
Usually Project Pat's concepts for his songs are meaningless and generic. This song is no different, but luckily the beat actually makes it sound like something important. Nice job Three 6.
I like the flow of this track. I also like Pimp C's flow. His lyrics are suspect but it's the south so it don't matter, it's expected. Hot beats from 3-6 as expected. Song seems too short though.
QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone know what the original song and artist DJ Paul sampled for "Talkin' Smart to A Pimp".....if so, hit me at iycebrgslym8@yahoo.com I WOUOLD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!
In retrospect to errthang that went down earlier, I retract my earlier statement about it not being a popular hit...I think the brass at Hypnotize Minds should pick it as the next single now (it could have a "Slow Motion" effect)
