Feel like hearing two Great Spitters go in over a dope beat? If you didn’t answer that with a resounding “Yes,” then… uh… I’m not sure how you ended up at The DJBooth. Assuming you are a fan of quality rhymes, however, single number two off Prodigy‘s forthcoming street album should be right up your alley. Premiered today by our friends over at Complex, this joint sees the Big Apple underground mainstay coming together with Young Money signee and reality star Cory Gunz for an exhibition of mic-rocking excellence. Over Mobb Deep colleague Havoc‘s beat, a tuneful yet hard-hitting blend of strings, tension-fraught bell arpeggios and head-noddable percussion, Prodigy dubs himself a “rhymin’ expert” in bars so ill they render the assertion redundant. Gunz takes over on the back end, shouting-out his “n*ggas on lock doin’ time” and resolving to give his little brother a better life in a gymnastically-flowed closing 16. Feeling it? You know what is crazy? (Sit down for a quick history lesson.) Prodigy collaborated with Cory's father, Peter Guns, in the 90s. Now, years and years later, he is on a track with his son. Prodigy sounds best over darker, harder drums, but I am just glad dude is out of prison.

I like Prodigy's Fast flow on this track. It caught me a bit off-guard, but in a good way. Havoc did a great job with this beat too. Cory Gunz sounds good on here. I like the collaboration. Good work. BANGER!

Thanks for the info Z, that's crazy! This is a sick track, I'm a huge fan of Cory Gunz (His mixtape is dope!) and Mobb Deep's latest is so good, heavy on repeat!
