Prodigy - Cold World
Artist: Prodigy
Producer: Sid Roams
Album: Product of the 80s
Label: Infamous Records
With the winter fast approaching, snow and climate changes aren’t the only things that can make life difficult. Prodigy’s uniquely futuristic street banger, Cold World, finds the currently imprisoned rapper waxing poetic about holding it down… for those who are locked down. Off of Product of the 80s, P’s second release since his incarceration this year, the track finds the Mobb Deep member displaying his signature style over Sid Roams’ synthesized production. With Jack Frost on his breath, P’s Dirt Class Records release won’t have anyone screaming “G-Unit!” Rather, the Queensbridge lyricist is as gritty and grimy as ever. Does Nathan, our resident reviewer, agree? Read his commentary and find out.

Creative 80's production is nice on this one. Prodigy lyrics go hard on this one and he sounds hungry. P is on the comeback. Look out for him right now!

Nas would have killed this beat. This has potential! Unlike that awful ass H.N.I.C.2. That was one of the worse albums I have ever heard. This is cool though. Production is creative.

This production is pretty eclectic, and I agree, Nas would have smashed this production. As for Prodigy, he sounds pretty boring. I couldn't even listen to the whole song. The hook seems has no thought either.

As Nathan pointed out in his review of PRODUCT OF THE 80S, P just wasn't himself on these records. While I love his voice, his delivery is one point, and he cracks me up when we do interviews... I can't help but this everything he did on this last project was rushed.
P is capable of better and I hold him to very high standards (early MOBB sh*t is classic hip-hop). This is slightly better than 'okay,' not anything more. |

This beat sounds like something that Ratatat came up with, crazy and trippy lol, Prodigy is one of my favorites, an icon of real hip hop so to speak, ive never heard a track from him that would bring people to thing that hip hop is really "dead", not the worst, but not the best by a long shot

It was iight. He had a great flow and nice chorus. Beat is somewhat banging. I can put this in rotation. 3.5, not gonna round up though.
