Johnny Polygon - F**kin' Awesome
Artist: Johnny Polygon
Producer: The Soundmen
Album: Wolf in Cheap Clothing
Label: Unsigned
An artist who titles a record “F**kin’ Awesome” runs the risk of shame and embarrassment if the contents don’t match the label; thus, it was with temerity that I clicked “Play” on Johnny Polygon‘s latest offering. “Will F**kin Awesome actually be,” I asked myself, “ f**kin’ awesome?” Fortunately, I think readers will join me in answering that question with a hearty, “Abso-f**kin’-lutely!” This standout EP cut finds Polygon showcasing a smoother style than on his previous features. Over The Soundmen‘s airy synth boardwork, the emcee pays tribute to the joys of no-strings-attached action, telling one of his many chicks, “You’re not my only one, but maybe you’re my favorite.” While his nonchalance about loving and leaving ‘em may have self-proclaimed “nice guys” shaking their heads in disapproval, it’s hard to hold it against him when he describes his romantic exploits in such an entertaining manner – and if his rhymes don’t win you over, his surprisingly silky sung chorus will likely do the trick. Fans can find F**kin’ Awesome and much more on the Booth-sponsored Wolf in Cheap Clothing EP, available here for free streaming and download.

Nice work by The Soundmen but other than that this is song is just lacking substance. Could use a stronger hook as well.

I could see the appeal for this type of song, it would be a very limited audience, but they're there.

Johnny doesn't take himself seriously (musically) and neither should you. This is wildly entertaining and a fun listen.

Spoken like a man who's most consistent sexual action comes from his left hand. Uno stars.
