Crazy – it’s been more than two years since Pol-B stepped into the Booth with his first feature, exclusive freestyle So Hard. Not that it matters to the Buffalo, N.Y. repper; when your goal is to create Timeless tunes, timeliness is essentially beside the point. In any case, this new single is a prime example of new-old-school freshness, with The Kaliphat serving up a bombastically brassy sample laced with spacey synth overtones, as the artist drops verses packed with retro-informed braggadocio. That’s not to say the up-and-comer doesn’t innovate – on the contrary, he showcases plenty of individuality, notably declaring “I’m the rap Barbara Streisand.“ While I don’t think anybody’s gonna fight him for that title, it is the ballsiest boast I’ve heard in a lo-o-ong minute. Topped off with the mathemagically smooth chorus vocals of rising soul songstress Algebra Blessett, this banger is just one of many fresh cuts set for inclusion on Pol-B’s Pol-Position street album, scheduled to hit the ‘net this fall.

Constructive criticism to start.... Pol-B's new single won't be considered a "Timeless" song (or classic, which is usually the word associated with "timeless.") Okay, that is out of the way. Overall, I really enjoyed this listen. B's chemistry with trackmate Algebra Blessett is engaging and pleasing to the ears and the nicely-sampled (sounds familiar) production work also works well. Worthy of a few listens.

There's nothing wrong with calling your music what you hope it will someday become. Props to Pol B for striving for perfection.
Overall I thought this was really dope. I was on the fence between three and four stars, but that Suh/Lions reference was so sick I had to go four. Well played sir. |

Very average to me. Pol-B's flow is on point with the production but there is nothing classic or even banger in each.

This track is the perfect set up of something great to come next, I'm looking forward to hearing more from Pol B. This kind of hip hop is Timeless. This track was put together very well, from the Lyrics, delivery, singing, and production was all next level compared to what we are used to hearing on a daily basis.

I dont care about cursing but did he really have to say @*#$! timeless? I heard mother @*#$! way to many times in this song. the beat and the chorus is so pure sounding. biggy could of pulled this song off with every other word being a curse word because it just sounds right comin out his mouth. but this cat when he curses...i feel like the pastor is cursing in church.
