Pol-B - Journey to Elegance
Artist: Pol-B
Producer: Kaliphat
Album: Clocked Out Vol. 1 Mixtape
Label: Ace Group Ent.
Homer’s Odyssey, Alice’s Wonderland, Dorothy’s Oz, Harold & Kumar’s White Castle; each of these famous plots all share a common theme: the character’s embarkment on a prolonged (and epic) voyage. While these fictional protagonists manage to find what they were looking for, Pol B’s search for enlightenment in the music industry has just begun with his Journey to Elegance. Backed by a strong and slowly developing beat from Kaliphat, B shares with listeners the events that test an artist’s true strength and perseverance in the business, along with what his talent can bring to the table (“Put me in a box/ my wrapping makes it a gift/ when I’m delivering sh*t colder than Christmases”). While the Journey to Elegance may prove to be the shortest distance between two points for the Atlanta musician, his new mixtape, the Clocked Out Vol. 1 Mixtape, out now, gives us something to reminisce about during his grind to the top. As always, keep it locked to the Booth for more.

This is my first introduction to Pol B and I have to say I'm impressed. He doesn't have any gimmicks, just spits a quality flow with some memorable lyrics. I'm right there with KelJr305, I'll be on the lookout for more from the man.

I'm debating on this one, the instrumental gets a 4 out of 5 fro me, it couuld be a little faster, and this guy's flow does enough to carry the track, i'm still split on whether to put this on rotation. i'ma leave it a 2 stars and round up to 2.5

His mixtape took me by surprise. I am not sure if it was the stage name or the unfounded hype, but I didn't expect much off the bat. However, this track (like much of his new release) was a pleasant surprise. Better production needed to stand out in the crowd, but the spit game is there.

The production is real good stuff, slow moving and provides a mellow introspective mood to Pol's lyrics and his flow was nice to hear. I hope to see more work from him in the future while this goes for rotation!

The music, though slow, is smooth and sexy but I don't think his flow fits it
