If you like piña coladas, have I got a song for you! OK, I’m not sure if a taste for tropical drinks will equate to an appreciation for Plies latest single – personally, I prefer to enjoy my alcohol and fruity desserts separately – but I do know that the formula of “take a goofy, yet insanely catchy old song and put an even goofier, even catchier modern spin on it” has worked wonders for certain other artists (cough, Flo Rida). On She Got It Made, co-producers Clinton Sparks & Kamau Georges serve up a synth-fortified beat inspired by Rupert Holmes’s 1979 smash, Escape (If You Like Piña Coladas), as the Opa Locka native promises to treat one very lucky lady so well her friends’ll turn green with envy. Plies describes the luxuries he’s willing to provide in rhymes just repetitive enough to be instantly memorable: “If you like top-shelf, I can put it in your drink / If you need a little paper, I can put it in your bank / If you need a little sex, I can drop it in your tank…” (You get the picture.) If you like what you’re hearing, prepare to be spoiled rotten on May 24, when Plies fourth LP, Goon Affiliated, hits stores everywhere.

Worst Plies song ever. I gave up 2 albums ago but this is the icing on the cake. The beat is pretty hot but he has nothing to do with that. What he does contribute, however, is super annoying. Flow is not hot at all and gets so repetitive. Sorry, this is bad.

I'm gonna have to give Plies the "most-uncreative-rapper-in-the-game" award. Every song sounds similar to his other ones. Beat was hot but this is the same flow, same screaming as all his other songs. Not impressed.

I don't care for Plies on this record (Flo Rida would have made this a legit smash). The tempo is too slow and the hook is Yung Joc-lame.
So Clinton Sparks became JR Rotem on the old-school song sampling flip? Job well done, the bounce is undeniably catchy. I don't want to give this a 1-star rating so I'll be ultra-kind and give it a 2. I know I know, I'm a nice guy.

dude on the hook is by the way Bei Major. finally I get to hear him now. he has now also a artist deal on Atlantic. what a horrible wannabe-singer. jesus, I can find you 10 better singers in less than 5 minutes on social network websites!!! why do suckers like him get a deal?? did he massage the executives nuts??

If history is any judge, this track will get poor ratings in the Booth (deservedly) and then become a huge hit. Plies will go buy himself another house, and then make another track exactly like this. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

just because - i'm a fan of plies - I think this is such a layed back song and i like to lay back!! or because i like to go against th grain!!! I am going to giv this song 5 stars!!! I can see my self drinking to this song for many nights to come...

@GStan10, CB, and Z... Plies is not a creative rapper or influential (hahaha do people call girls "bust is babys" instead of "shawty" yet?) but he does one thing right: the same assembly line generic music that a lot of people like!!!

This isn't as bad as you guys make it out to be!!
I think Plies has that unique sound that gets a ton of radio play!! So expect to hear this on the radio very soon!! I'll admit it is very very catchy!! |

haha say what you will, but Plies has got another surefire on his hands! I think Bust It Baby was his best track (mostly thanks to Ne-Yo) but this should at least give him a release date. im surprised Medicine didnt blow up cuz that was crack..
