Although all of Plies’ hit singles thus far (Shawty, Hypnotized, Bust It Baby (Pt. 2), Please Excuse My Hands, Put It on Ya) have been geared primarily towards a female audience, not one of them has featured a woman’s voice until now. On the newest single off his recently-released junior album, Da Realist, Plies talks about a certain lady who calls him when she Want It, Need It, as Ashanti brings her smooth and classy style to the forefront once again. The standout point by far, however, is J.R. Rotem‘s uber-soft production. By the time this record reaches its peak, however, we’ll probably be listening to the lead single off Plies’ fourth album, due out in the second quarter of ‘09.

I hate the engineering mix on Ashanti's vocals! Why did they do that! This is nothing special from Plies...another female track. The hook is smooth...except for the mix. J.R's production is real smooth. I can throw this in rotations.

I always like Plies' lyrics- they SEXc...awww my goodness!...but I don't like how they featured Ashanti on this one. It's in rotation- Plies can do better and I've never been a fan of hers.

Well Big-A that's just stupid. I mean even if I know i probably won't like a song because it's old school, I still give it a chance and listen to it and don't just give it a one star. If I remember right I think you're one of the ones who gets frustrated with me and say "oh, well your music tastes sucks...you should like this" or whatever (maybe not phrased like that)...but I mean at least I gave it the chance. And you??...you just mess up the rating simply cause you don't like all of that stuff about him and you give it a one?, damn.. So all in all I'm just saying don't rate when you don't even listen to a little bit of the song.

I actually like Ashanti on this, she usually sounds horrible, this song is nice, i like the mix on her vocals and disagree with some of you. Plies did a good job, regardless of his character and what music he should be making, this is just a song, and its a nice collab.

J.R could have done better on this beat. Ashanti doesnt do anything for the track her voice/melody just blends with the track. Smooth production though has a 80s feel.

I really dont like plies because hes always talking about how hes gonna take some girls pants off and have sex with her. its really degrading. and plus all his songs sound the same. So to me this is nothing new. not feelin it and ashanti doesnt fit in in this track.

I like Plies. I don't think he's that great as a rapper, but I love his type of music, his style...I have to agree with DeeZul anyway, he's kinda grossy! I love Street Light but the lyrics are really grossy...and this one too I guess! But I can't help liking this, the production is sweet and sexy and Ashanti fits it in my opinion! Plies is rapping like Soulja Boy here lol

haha someone above mentioned that Plies has become the new Ja Rule, lol i couldn't agree more! Plies is annoying but tolerable, i can understand why his singles are so popular. They apply that magic formula that Murder inc did so well in their hey-day - simple but catchy beat, lyrics aimed at females, big named guest artists singing the hook. All equals radio success..........i think the beat could have come way harder, it just sounds like an even more p*ssy version of Bust It Baby II (if thats possible) ...Ashanti was good though, have always enjoyed listening to her (and looking at her :P)
