When Plies’ latest buzz single, Pants Hang Low (from his forthcoming junior album, Da Realist) first impacted the Booth in late August, it was met with mixed reviews. In the tradition of his previous hits (see Shawty, Hypnotized, Bust It Baby Pt. 2), the Fort Myers, Florida native and his label, Atlantic Records, have decided to target the ladies with the first official single, Put It on Ya. As on the previously-mentioned past singles, Plies contracts an R&B singer to handle the hook (in this case, it’s new label mate, Chris J). Over legendary producer No I.D.‘s keyboard-heavy beat, Plies asks women what their fantasies are and how he can help make them come true. This record’s obvious radio hit potential should heighten ladies’ (and gents’) expectations for Plies’ third album in sixteen months, Da Realist, in stores and online December 16.

First!! The keyboard beat is perfect for this beat. The beat is insane and the production is banging!! Chris J brings a smooth sexy chorus while Plies lyrics are sub-par but they will still appeal to the ladies. This is banging and I gotta rate it classic. Dont be suprised to hear this song all over the radio stations in a few weeks. 5 stars!

So THIS is the first official single, huh? I do like this one better than the Mannie produced Pants Hang Low, but I wouldn't put this one in the same category as his other big hits (no need mentioning). Plies has got another solid radio hit here with this track, which is what I think he aims for, especially with his singles. The rest of his music can be left to the homemade music videos all over youtube, LOL. Catchy melody on this one, Plies is typical, hasn't really improved his talent at all on this one. In rotation.

Can't lie this is the first single of Plies I would listen to w/o complaining, just becuase No I.D. did the beat. It's something about this beat that get me stuck. Plies is as expected for better or worse.

No I.D producing for Plies? Interesting. Chris J sounds decent on the hook and it's a tad catchy. The production is nice, though it's not super duper or anything. This is Plies' forte I guess (Ladies joints). He's nothing special and never will be in my opinion. But I know for a fact he has a fan base (mostly female) that loves him, so let fam do this thing. As for my opinion, this only gets 2 stars.

Always been a big Plies fan. He knows how to make a hit. Not necessarily hot with the deep Hip-Hop community, but hot for radio. This is going to be like Bust It Baby, which I still think is a great song. All Plies needs to do is improve lyricaly, and then he will be set. Heck if he can do that by the sixth album which, by the rate he is going will be out by early 2010, he will be set.

I've always loved Plies and will continue to. For me there is nothing bad to about him. Plies does his thing in here just like the rest of his songs. Chris J sounds replacable but his voice is nice but should have been more creative. Plus the beat is hot.

If you are unfamiliar with the work of Chicago's No I.D., it should probably come as a surprise that this slept-on, relatively unknown producer did his damn thing. Make no mistake about, this man's credentials stacked on top of each other are taller than Plies. Don't get me wrong, Plies does a great job on this track. BUT... its because of the 'track' that it even makes a peep in the first place.
