Plies - Bust It Baby

When Plies jumped into hip-hop, he had no intention of becoming a rapper, much less an Usher-esque heartthrob. With the assistance of his charming personality, however, Plies ‘07 debut album The Real Testament (led by the singles Shawty and Hypnotized) has been a semi-success. To kick off promotions for his never-too-soon upcoming sophomore album, Da Definition of Real, Plies has decided to follow the motto “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” A smooth piano beat (produced by DVS) mixed with laid-back vocals will help Bust It Baby get played throughout the nation’s bedroom speakers. Later this year the whole world will discover Da Definition of Real, set to drop this spring.

Okay, anybody's who's ever been in a 'hood azz relationship ought to feel this. I know I do. It's not as hard as I would expect Plies to go, but I like how he puts things on this cut, and the beat is good & mellow - matches the song nicely. Can't front... I might be a Plies fan. Shhhh.

I like that they are trying to piggyback off his current buzz and go right into a new album. I doubt Atlantic, or any label for that matter, wants to kill a heavy buzz on one of their artists. Keep it up Plies.

Plies is crucial, his voice keeps me diggin his tracks, but his first album had too much about @*#$! in it, like Webbie's old album...it gets annoying after a while. But this song is good, he needs another hit like 'shawty' or 'hypnotized' to get this album poppin' though.

I agree with DJ Z on Plies, I'm glad he is going right into his sophmore album. It seems like people now days have one hit, get on 50 remixes of other people's songs, and then you don't hear from them for a year or two. Plies always goes hard, but shows his softer side on this one. He's definately got a bright future in the game!
