Pleasure P - 1 More Drink
Artist: Pleasure P
Featuring: Lil Jon
Producer: Young Yonny
Album: Pleasure P Principles
Label: Entertainment One Music
Going to the club with Lil Jon is not for the faint of heart… or liver. Sure, he can party, but when you’re too drunk to see straight, is the Crunk King going to be offering you a chalice of ice water? Au contraire, mon frère – he’ll be the guy who orders another round of shots and convinces you that 1 More Drink couldn’t possibly hurt. Lather, rinse, repeat till you pass out. If you’re Pleasure P, however, you’ll get a high quality club banger out of the experience. The follow-up to lead single Change Positions, this scorcher finds beatsmith Young Yonny serving up a pulsing, synth-loaded beat as the ex-Pretty Ricky frontman describes his reckless behavior following one too many glasses of Nuvo: removing his shirt, standing on tables throwing money in the air, getting lapdances from female clubgoers – you know, good clean fun. Topped off with some guest, uh, shouts from Lil Jon, 1 More Drink could hardly be a better soundtrack for liquor-soaked revelry, but is it a good look for Marcus Cooper? You decide. If you like what you’re hearing, keep it locked for the latest on Pleasure P Principles, which as yet lacks a release date.

I know artists want to get heard in the club (and the way to do that is to make up a silly drinking record), but at the expense of completely changing your sound and style? This record isn't a Pleasure P record (at least not the artist whose debut sounded nothing like this). I could be wrong, but I think this might not be the best direction...

I don't care for this beat, but Pleasure did his thing on this. Not too impressed though.

Generally speaking, I think Pleasure P excels on tracks where his vocals are spaced out in arrangement so I was willing to give this a pre-listen chance no matter how undesirable a Lil Jon feature is. That being said, the King of Crunk's presence on this is very minimal, which works both in & out of P's favor considering the up-tempo club jams are more of his forte than Mr. Cooper.

I just don’t want to hear anymore of this, Pleasure seems to be going backwards not forwards.

Way to jump on the drinking in the club song bandwagon. The girls may want one more drink, but I want one less song about girls wanting one more drink.

The kick sounds very distorted idk if it suppose to sound like that but its really annoying!!
Song sounds like it's missing that special something to really make it a banger!! Different look from Pleasure P but maybe he's trying to hard as this song is easily forgettable!!!! |
