When we last heard from Play N Skillz, the artist/producer duo was working on their sophomore studio album, The Titaniq. In an ironic twist, the project has “sank,” which has left the duo to think Out Tha Box in order to rework the effort. On the new single, 1 Mo Gin, the duo hits the club, asking the bartender for one last drink and for Mr. DJ to Play That Song. Lil’ Jon gives his support on an energy-filled intro, and frequent clients Krayzie Bone and Bun B toss in their respective verses as well. Standing out among the guest features is the duo’s very own production, proving that while producers who can also perform is a cool venture, they shouldn’t all quit their day job.
whoa i wasn't expecting this kinda song when i first turned it on but ne wayz this is generic song isnt the hook the same as cher sung about a while ago lol
stealing some daft punk samples...? lol made it weird for me since I like that daft punk song a lot and this song really doesnt keep the same feel as that song, I think the beat could have been better suited to this if it had been something like an I'm So Hood beat, but i guess they tryin to be unique...
I think this song would have been better w/o Lil Jon. If your going to have Krazy & Bun B on the same track, you need a street banger Play & Skills! Not this bullshit!
I have to agree with everyone ahead of me, the chorus is repetitive, and gets old quick. Bun B and Krayzie Bone stole the show from Play N' Skillz. 5* for Bun and Krayzie, and a 2* for Play N' Skillz.
Wow, they did a good job sampling Daft Punk’s One More Time
Wow, they did a good
job sampling Daft Punk’s One More Time! The more I listen, the more I like it!!!
Gotta give’em props, credits go especially for the work on the pre-chorus,
that’s exciting (I mean, it doesn’t have that sound on the original version, does
it?)! The chorus could’ve been better (less repetitive, more creative), other
than that this track is hot and the features helped a lot! You people are
barely open minded for new sounds,
huh? It worked for Kanye and I hope it works for Play
N Skillz too. 4*
damn i challenge all ya'll ratin it at garbage to give it another try. For me, I often rate songs low, but then after a couple more spins I really like them (She Got It, Lollipop). The production is really good and everyone is at least decent on their verses. I really like it, but at the worst, it is not garbage.
Krayzie Bone and Bun B on the same song. That gets a 'spin point' regardless. I would like to thank DONJONJON for reminding everyone to listen to everything a few times, well- at least once all the way through, before rating something a '1' or '2'. Play N Skillz are solid producers.
