While hometown pride has always been a tenet of hip-hop, few rappers have matched the intensity of Pitbull’s devotion to Miami. He rarely misses a chance to plug his birthplace, naming his debut album and a handful of songs after it. Thus, it should come as no surprise that his newest track is called Dem Miami Boyz. As its title suggests, Pitbull spends the track cataloging the traits that make male Miamians so much harder than everyone else. From what I gather, Miami boys move a lot of coke and do a lot of hard time—sounds like a pretty dynamic lifestyle. Producer DJ Noodles contributes a relatively straightforward, hard-hitting beat. Dem Miami Boyz is featured on DJ Noodles & DJ Buddha Presents: Pitbull: Free Agent Mixtape (available now).
Last week I said Pitbull needed to step his game up. This is in the direction of what I was talking about. While it isn't his reggation club hopping beat, its a pretty good track. Hits hard on the speakers and the flow goes well. Only problem with Pitbull is that he shouts out Miami way too much, with the Miami boys and the 305's. We know where you're from, Pitbull, dont worry.
Miami is on the decline I hate to say. With Plies gettin all this hate, Ross Correctional officer pix, those week ass kahled songs, and not to mention that horrible Cats with the Miami trick track. Pitbull still does his best to hold that 305 strong. I'm glad to see him doin tracks like this. All that reggeton booty tracks I wasn't feelin. This right here bangs.
I guess I have a bias against Pitbull. I never like anything he spits....ever. This beat is really generic and a dime a dozen. I don't know. I'm still not impressed with his flow. He'll have to come better and different for him to get my attention.
like jerry said pitbull is a ft. artist to me.. only does good on others tracks... not rly feelin this song beat is kinda wack... n iunno like michaelhannah said too i dont rly like n e thin he spits either
I think this beat is bangin, Pitbull doesn't sound bad but he's a bit annoying after a while. In my opinion he should have needed a guest to rap/sing a bridge, just to avoid the song to be too repetitive like it is! I don't understand what he says so I only listen to the beat, which is not enough for me to completely like a song! But it's in rotation, I could use it to dance!
Pitbull doesn't make music so that you can rock out in front of your computer monitor. We are glad you are at DJBooth, but seriously, this song is meant to be entirely enjoyed at the CLUB. Go to a club, hear this blasting out and tell me you won't wild out. Seriously.... try it.
