Pitbull - Back in Time
Artist: Pitbull
Producer: Big Syphe
Album: Global Warming
Label: PoloGrounds/J/Mr. 305 Inc.
On the latest promo single from Kinetics & One Love, featured this evening along with its visual accompaniment, the Northeastern duo consider traveling Back in Time to change the past, but ultimately elect to leave things as they are, for fear that their acts would have far-reaching, unintended consequences. Turns out that didn’t really need to worry about it, because Pitbull‘s already made up his mind to time travel - with all the awesome and/or terrible ramifications that might entail. The theme song to Men in Black™ 3 (I guess Will Smith got sick of doing songs to go with his movies), this record finds beatsmith Big Syphe flipping Mickey and Sylvia’s 1950’s hit, Love Is Strange, into a high-energy backdrop (complete with inexplicably dope dubstep breakdown) as the club heavyweight ponders what he’d do if he had the chance to revisit past eras. The answer, of course, is “party and womanize,” but Pit does pay lip service to some deeper motivations, spitting, “To understand the future, we have have to go back in time.” It has yet to be announced when the soundtrack LP will be available in stores, but those feeling it can look forward to another 90-plus minutes of sci-fi/comedy/action gold May 25, when MIBIII debuts at theaters everywhere.

Most of Pit's club-ready records are all sounding the same these days, but I have to give kudos to the man. He is replicating his magical formula over and over and seeing lots of international success.

I was really surprised that Pitbull came out with a song that wasn't really directed towards a club scene but this was cool.

Great beat, love the different sound from Pit. When I played this I was expecting the usual club banger sound, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I was fan of Pitbull to begin with, but then the radio raped him and made him, still a lot of respect for what he does, this track is alright.

Ok this is interesting for a movie ost but I'm saying there is more lyrical depth to this track than his usual and it's okay.
Ok saying this is hefty considering I usually dislike Mr Pitbull for his lame flows and predictable tunes, but like Flo-rida he has a way with picking the right beats. |
