If I could flip a switch that made summer last forever in my city of residence, would I do it? In a heartbeat – sweltering heat and hair-ruining humidity are minor annoyances compared with those treacherous Minneapolis winters (we locals call it “go-outside-and-die weather”). PHZ-Sicks agrees that a SumHer Everlasting would be freaking fantastic, but for slightly different reasons: as the DMV native and exclusive freestyle series alum explains on his latest single, not only does he dig the warm weather, but he’s struck up a fresh new summer romance. The prolific Best Kept Secret (who recently won Booth acclaim for his work with D.C. Don Juan) mans the mixing boards, serving up an infectiously bouncy, sampled instrumental as the emcee engages in little breezy back-and-forth with his girl, describing activities that range from the wholesome (“Riding coasters after dark…”) and the risqué (grabbing some ice and re-enacting the famous scene from Do the Right Thing). Digging this left-of-center summer anthem? Fans can find this cut and more on The Laws of PHZ-Sicks, due out sometime this fall.

Wow just another bad song in a week full of brutal entries in the booth. I wish summer would never come again if I was forced to listen to this ever again.

I really don't think Rdot was listening. Love the lush of the production and the hook. The verses are stellar, especially the worldplay (I never let my passenger down, no Suge) and the storytelling was good. I can def. roll up and listen to this.

Wow, how do you really feel "rdotlala." Isn't there a better way to say you aren't a fan of a record? C'mon!

PHZ still needs to refine his flow a little, but this is a solid step forward from his earlier works. Good work!

I have to admit that the hook kind of gets under my skin, but I have to add points for creativity. Lord knows it's so easy to just go in the same direction as everyone else - props to PHZ for pushing. The next time around I'm willing to bet I'll be personally digging the sound a little more.

Mmm just a lil everywhere for my taste, seems like a hit or miss with people, sorry but that hook is atrocious. Verses were slick though.

I agree with Aussie_Accents that this is a hit or miss track, but I think it's a HIT! Beat reminds me of a chill-back 90's jam and I think the girls voice is cute and unique. I could hear Rafael Saadiq on this.

That hook is horrible and the production only hurts everything else on the track. Try again.
