Phil Adé - Break Me Off
Artist: Phil Adé
Producer: BrandUn DeShay
Album: Ashley Outrageous Presents: The Playlist Vol. 2
Label: 368 Music Group
So you didn’t feel what Nathan was saying last year when he gave Phil Adé’s The Letterman a solid four Booth spins (something that is always vied for in the music community)? For those who might have been too timid to jump on the Adé bandwagon, fear not, for you have a second chance this year. The Freestyle Series alum drops Break Me Off today, a little something-something that will have longtime fans and new listeners alike enjoying what the man is throwing down in 2011. Produced by BrandUn DeShay, the nothing-but-eclectic boardwork compliments Phil as his lyricism reveals he’s fearlessly honest thoughts; he’s not asking the world from his talents, but enough to make a living (a sentiment very few in the industry would ever echo). Now all we have to do is sit back, enjoy, and see how Phil’s ambitions play out in the coming year. If you liked this real talk, be sure to break off a piece of Ashley Outrageous Presents: The Playlist Vol. 2, which dropped today.

Truthfully, I am not sure if Phil recorded "Break Me Off" for a past project and just didn't seem to think it fit or if he actually recorded it with Ashley's compilation mixtape in mind, but either way I am glad that its out there. DeShay's lively production suits Phil well and the end result is lots of fun for the listener.

Can't wait to download this one for the ride. Just has that feel good vibe to it, especially with the beat and Phil's wordplay and flow. Highly impressed with this one, gotta be some of the best of Phil Ade I've heard yet! Instant banger.

The horns brought that old school good times vibe to the track. This is my first listen for Phil and I like how he held it down. He sounds really comfortable as an emcee.

This is really great from Phil Ade. "Break Me Off" is a instant banger. The production from BrandUn Deshay is really good. And the chorus is very catchy. This is a very enjoyable listen.

It is pretty hot joint! I like the Jazz type sound the song gives off. I can see me listening to this at a concert.
