Overwhelmingly positive reviews followed Pharoahe Monch after the rapper released his long-anticipated sophomore album, Desire, in June of ‘07. Now, over ten months later, Broken Heart, an unreleased song recorded during the album’s studio sessions (which did not make the final track listing), has hit our DJ Booth. Although the song most likely didn’t make the final cut because of sampling issues (Mr. Porter‘s beat interpolates Three Dog Night‘s classic, Eli’s Coming), it showcases Monch’s ability to evoke real feelings; in this case, the mourning of a loved one who was lost to the streets. Despite Desire‘s poor record sales, expect Monch to continue recording innovative and groundbreaking hip-hop.
Pharoahe Monch's last album was HOT to Death! It was really creative and different! This track has a smooth jazzy-type feel to it and Monch just comes on and rips it as usual. I hate to say it but, THIS IS A CERTIFIED DJ BLAZE BANGER!
I like this! I agree with chabz ,this is study music! Very nice production from Mr. Porter. I'd love ta hear ya boy Eminem try to flow on something like this. I gotta feeling if you lock the boy in a room with a track like this he'd give you a deeper side of that him we all know is in that demented head of his. (Mr. Porter is from D12 for yall that have 4gotten!) I'm not a fan of Pharoahe Monch. His voice got lost in the music to me. A Eminem, Common, Nas, And Talib Kweli collab would have made this song something phenomenal! 3.5

Ok, what do you know about lame Bodyshock, when you have Shawty Lo on your favorite rappers list?!? This is a 4* song, but I'mma rate it higher because some of you dont recognize quality when you hear it. This is a chill out song, dont expect it to bang! The beat is smooth and very well done, his flow only matches the beat, that's all, which is already more than all the Shawty Lo's do.
funny how some on here believe a song is a banger, regardless of if people like it or not. it's a banger, and if u don't like it YOU'RE LAME! almost as if it's insulting not to like a certain track. well i don't really like this, so if ur insulted, good! :+)
This is out of control. 10 years ago PM was rapping with the same style people are using now. Now he has moved onto another style which is way over most people's head. Once again he is ahead of his time. This beat is off the chain for real and its good to see PM getting some good production behind his flow. I respect other people's opinion but y'all are crazy not to like this.
HAHAHA THE PEOPLE WHO RATED THIS 1 STAR ARE THE REASON WHY HIP-HOP SUCKS! PM is a beast on the mic and he knows how to utilize the gospel sample like no other rapper out there. "Desire" was craft perfectly and I hope I don't have to wait another 10 years for another PM LP. I saw him live in Berkeley and he was off the hook.

Man dis song is underrated. id give it a 10 if i could. but all i gotta say about the people that posted lame comments about dis song is that they dont know real music when they hear it. its laid back to put you in a mood becasue he`s actually tellin a story. So you have to listen to his lyrics insted of abunch of yellin n screamin like "Shawty Lo" or some other rapper that dosent have over 100,000 sales after their album has been out for about 3 months now LMFAO!!!
