It’s no secret that the line between love and lust can get a little blurry at times, but I think it’s safe to say that Seattle native Petatosh has a better grasp of the two emotions than most people. The DJBooth newcomer may have been absent from our pages since the January release of last single Shine, but he returns today with an in-depth examination of many an emotion on Lust. In addition to his lyrical breakdown, ‘tosh takes the time to add a bit of side commentary between his verses, which is certainly an interesting and welcomed addition to the record. And what is a song about love without a soulful audio backdrop? No worries, producer DJ Semaj takes the call, assisting with his piano-driven, sample-heavy production. At this moment, Lust is not attached to any larger project from the native Northwesterner, but when and if that changes we will have the scoop.

Love old school soul samples. I don't like the reverb on some of his vocals, but the song is very enjoyable. The track feels like something old school Jay would have tackled (who he name drops in the song, ha!)

TERMINATOR 2! Nasty flow by Petatosh and smooth beat by DJ Semaj.
