Jeff Chery - Theory ft. Ransom
Artist: Jeff Chery
Producer: X.O.
Album: Unreleased
Label: Team Rsinal Inc.
Booth favorite Pay$0z is well aware that, whether you’re looking to reign supreme in the political arena, the streets, or the music game, many of the same principles apply—thus, the emcee’s based his own “brand new Theory of a hustler” on one of the oldest maxims in the book: “divide and conquer.” The Haiti-to-Brooklyn emigrant begins this unreleased cut (making its world premiere right here in the Booth) with a lyrical portrait of greatness, describing a born leader who keeps the streets on lock without ever losing his cool. In his final bars, he reveals that—surprise—he’s been talking about himself all along! Okay, I saw that one coming a mile away, but it’s a fresh take on your usual braggadocio, and deserves more than the sorta lame golf clap he gets at the verse’s end (maybe we’re supposed to add our own applause?) Jersey emcee Ransom takes over for the track’s latter half, spitting a gruff chronicle of his own hustle over Black Wall Street emcee/producer X.O.‘s laid-back, classic rock-sampling instrumental. If this cut leaves you wanting more, keep your browsers trained on our front page—Pay$0z’ DJBooth/Team Rsinal-cosponsored Against the Grain LP is coming soon!

The beat gets a little dull after a while but I am definitely feeling the lyrics and message on this one. Pay$Oz spits some good rhymes and Ransom sounds solid on the backend. Nothing I would download but in rotation

Lyrics were dope, Z you were right. Glad to be blessed with the premiere, the guitar strings were nuts! I love when hip hop beats get a little rock edge to them, Pay$0z knows what's up.

This one would have been 4 stars if he would turn up the bass and lose some of the treble in his voice! Flow is a bit weak for Pay$oz, love the beat tho.

ran sounds like he went harder than P cause ran flow, wordplay, and delivery is easy on the track. P's verse has meaning, he lyrically slaughtered it and flow is way crazier than ran if you listen to what he saying

The whining guitar in the production sets a perfect mood and backdrop for the track. The lyricism is real nice. BANGER

This track is definitely a solid 4; the guitar riffs have this epic almost hood sorrowful feel to it (irony...). The Wordplay was an Eagle, but the actual lyrical msg/ content is just on par. Averages a Birdie aka 4 star - banger.

The concept is sick, and the way Paysoz spoke of himself in third person, not too many people would get it, his flow was definitely on point and different coming from Paysoz. Ransom did his thing but he wasn't saying much and he always have that same 4 bar flow. Hiphoppers pay more attention.
