Paul Wall - I'm On Patron

Where has Paul Wall been? Four years ago he was rightfully called The People’s Champ, but then sales of his 2007 album Get Money, Stay True were mediocre and he more or less disappeared. Whatever he’s been up to for the past two years don’t really matter anymore because Paul’s back in the Booth with a new single, I’m On Patron, a slowly bumping track that harkens back to his old chopped-n-screwed days with a synth heavy, dripping beat from Beanz N Kornbread. For his part Wall proves he still deserves to the nickname I bestowed on him, the King of the Simile, dropping lines like “I’m on like a light switch, my wrist froze up like a computer glitch.” Yep, he hasn’t missed a beat. I’m not sure if I’m On Patron has smash hit potential, but regardless, it’s good to hear Wall back at work. The track will be off his upcoming album Heart of a Champion, due out in the middle of next year.
