Today we salute you, Mr. Auto-tune inventor. Your contribution to the musical community took its 15 minutes of fame and sprinted away with it. Sure, you initially had us wooed by T-Pain’s and even Weezy’s mysteriously accurate pitch-finding abilities. But only now can we appreciate what your master plan was all along; thanks to you, we’ll never again know who can and who can’t sing. In the spirit of objectivity, Paul Couture may actually be a very good singer (although I’m quite sure that Ludacris is not). Moreover, his new single, Self Made Millionaire, should not be brushed off because of its liberal usage of the auto-tune effect—the song is actually quite catchy, and sounds like nothing else coming out of Austin right now. But it’s time to put auto-tune to rest. No word yet on Couture’s debut album.

Crazy beat, mix of rock and rap. This is that Black-Rock shit that Blaze always talks about, haha! Luda rips this beat (he sounds tight on the voicebox ps), I wouldnt know what to say about Paul C because his song is hot but he
needs the voicebox to make a record deal. But a solid 3/5 for me. |

the auto tune on this seems unnecessary why did luda use it for his verse? but anyways the beat is the best part of the song. i give it 2 stars it is a 3 without the auto tune but the auto tune is really annoying on this.

I actually think the use of the auto-tune kinda matches the beat and flow of the track, but maybe its just me. Though it got annoying a while back...

I can't decide about this one...I'm listening to it for the second time! I like the beat and the music, this rap/rock is absolutely cool, but I don't like them! They sound boring, above all that stupid voicebox...I think they ruined a bit the wonderful beat! It's in rotation, it's quite fresh and interesting ;)

Everyday that we feature a song with an auto-tune effect, at least members leave feedback about their displeasure over the usage. What I have come to realize, however, is that for most it is less about the auto-tune and more about who is using it. If Wayne or Kanye rock it, the world stops. If an unsigned artist rocks it, throw 'em under the bus? Right? People, it's a musical accompaniment. Please accept and embrace that it has been around longer than you and will continue to be used. Okay, off soap box. Nice track, Paul.

Sorry but I am not a big fan of recycled verses Ludacris - Pinky Shinin'; and I actually like the way Mr. Couture sounds hopefully he can sing w/o AutoTune...but I am feeling the beat.

The song is pretty raw! The production by Mr. Lee makes for a good rock/hip-hop blend that I've always been into. We should have more of these types of songs around. Ludacris was cool, but he could've done without the auto-tuner. I could barely tell that he was using it. I don't have much to say about this Paul Couture guy. He sounded good on the song, but he had the auto-tuner so who knows. Overall, it's a pretty sick song. I'll jock it!
