Paul Couture - Ambulance [Premiere]
Artist: Paul Couture
Producer: Paul Couture
Album: Untitled
Label: PhaseOne Comm/Sony RED/Bossmode Ent.
Country-western fans drown their sorrows in whiskey and beer. Emo kids put on extra mascara and cry. For R&B singers, however, nothing seems to ease the pain of romantic disappointment like placing unnecessary calls to 9-1-1. On new promo single Ambulance (a Booth-exclusive world premiere!), Buy Her Love up-and-comer Paul Couture does his part to keep our nation’s emergency operators busy, requesting that someone be sent ASAP to help him pick up the pieces of his broken heart. This breakup jam finds the Lone Star State native doing double-duty, serving up an appropriately sorrowful blend of piano and synths as he soulfully pours out his feelings regarding a failed relationship. Fellow R&B singer NiQ contributes an equally anguished guest verse (and background vocals throughout), offering a female perspective on the scenario described by Couture. Though we in the Booth don’t endorse prank-calling 9-1-1, this track nonetheless comes highly-recommended. Keep it locked for details on the singer’s latest project, which has yet to receive a title or release date.

It's been a while since Paul hit us with some new material, so I was excited to hear what he had up his sleeve this time around. Thought I am not a fan of R&B/pop singers throwing around the word "motherf**ker" in their records (it just seems unnecessary and too rap-like), I like the production and the vibe here. Enough to rotate, but how much more?

who dis guy???????????
lol first listen for me maybe cause he hasnt been on on a minute. starting with that chorus was a great choice instantly introducing the listner too the main points of the song and its pretty damn catchy. but i like his aproach which is too use stagnet words withing the lyrics like dj-z said muthaf**z and punchlines still it doesnt get mee of my seat excited instead its really solid and i like the featured artist on here shes cool 3 stars |

Pretty catchy tune, but how have I not heard much from this guy? He seems pretty good and enough for a few good spins. Hope to hear some more good music from this guy.

I liked Paul Courture's song with Luda "Self-Made Millionaire" cept this is way different, if you want a good idea of who he is listen to that, kinda cheesy song though. Not really my type on this song though. Kinda too repetitive and annoying. I put this for a few rotations, but I'll want it thrown away if it pops up too much. Not that great of a feature on this and doesn't really do anything Paul didn't do. 2.5 at best.

Good but not great. The production was the highlight of the track for me.

The last time I heard of this guy was on that Ludacris featured track a while back. The swearing he spits on this track fits well with the Self-Made Millionaire track but like Z said, it is unneccessary on here. The beat is pretty nice on here and it definitely gives you that reminiscing feeling with the synths. NiQ shows some potential and I actually liked her vocals better then Paul's voice. I probably won't play this track again so I got a give it a 2.

I really enjoyed the production he did on this track...it could have paved the way for a successful track but I think he was forcing his singing to the point where it was almost like he wasn't singing anymore. I mean it was a cross between him rapping and singing at the same time and his lyrics were something a rapper would talk about.
His hook was catchy and actually appropriate compared to his berse...and I actually think Niq did a better job on the verses then Mr. Paul did... |

I feel like this beat (and come to think of it the vocals) are a bit of a Dream rip-off, but it's such an amazingly well done Dream rip-off I don't really care. Catchy as hell, definitely has a shot at radio success.
Did anyone else think of that bus beatdown video when he says "call the am-bulance!"? Come on, I can't be the only one. |

A little bit too young for me but i can see the 16-21 genre it will appeal to

This is Aight. I meen I like it it is catchy and not to bad. sounds like something i could hear on the radio. but thats not entirely a good thing. all it is is like the catchy pop garbage played by all radio stations. its not tons deep or unique. its slightly better than some of that stuff but overall just ok.

Haha wow, seeing this guy's feature today I was in shock. Haven't heard from him since last July with "Buy Her Love" and clicking on this I was curious as to whether or not his potential was still there. While "Buy Her Love" relied strictly on the auto-tune I was still inclined to say that I was really feeling that track, this however, is far from on the same level.
While some may differ with my opinion, I don't like the concept of this song and the production is not as epic as his recent feature. Couture is still a pretty noteworthy artist on the rise to me, but after hearing this I am questioning whether or not Paul is truly capable of crafting a masterpiece. If you ask me, you should just stick to the auto tune. While I did enjoy the female counterpart of this song, I didn't really like the track as a whole. Seems forgettable in some instances. Not bad, but not really good either. |

Haha, for a sec I actually thought there was an ambulance coming from outside the window. Wasn't expecting to hear it in the beginning. Didn't really sound like he was really singing, but NiQ's vocals were nice.

Their voices and the production were good, but not together. It could just be me though, I've had that thought for a couple of the songs I've listened to today while I've been catching up since I was busy this week.

The melodies and performance is bland, stale and vocals are far too weak for me to warrant too high a grade. And that hook delivered with the total straight-faced drama gots to be a joke, right? Okay at very best.

I feel like the slow pace of the song didn't match well with the noisy synth.
Like, the breakdown on the female part felt like a relief. Singing is too monotonous to be truly enjoyable. You can barely tell the chorus from the verses (if it wasn't fro the repeating hearts), come on! |

I feel like the production steals the show here, but thats not insulting to anyone since it's self produced lol.
