Do you ever wake up and ask yourself, “I wonder if today will be the day that Papoose gets his career on track with a label that doesn’t shelf his sh*t and then drop him several months later”? While that scenario hasn’t personally played out in my life, I can imagine it has played out in the mind of the rapper himself. Still without a new label home after leaving Jive last year, the disgruntled Bed-Stuy, New York, rapper has stayed on his grind by continuing to release new material. On Get It Poppin Again, producer Swizz Beatz incorporates an old-school 60’s era sample, while Pap showcases his uncanny ability to effortlessly spit creative lines. Will this song get it poppin for Pap? Only time will tell.
I'm diggin the underground style with northeast. I was impressed to hear a song like this from papoose, just dont think of this style when i hear his name, but well done.
Swizzy snaped by sampling this. This reminds me of when I first heared hard knock life. I hated it. But I know this can work if pushed right. This has potential to be a huge hit! Like BIG man!
This grooves HEAVY-Pap makes his rhyme scheme catchy. Right now with everything going on (I'm a Packers fan) I just feel like something to relax to. I'll rate both of the New Yorkers' singles a 5 right now (all I ask in return is for NYC to take good care of Brett, OK?)
who is the random girl on this? did anybody notice her? i almost changed the track cuz i thought thewrong song was playing but anyways this song could be better, way better, maybe a remix? yes. definitely a remix could make this a hit, btu seriously who is that random girl?
weak. ive been listenin to Pap for a few years now, and i'm convinced he'll go nowhere. amazing, he's "cool" wit 50 Cent, yet he aint on G-Unit. And wit each new mixtape, he loses some of his creativity. I guess after 20 or so, you just don't have too much to rap about haha. He shoulda saved some of it lol. and Charm Parker, she's just a random girl!
OK, maybe this song will grow on me, if i ever hear it again. I have always enjoyed Pap's rhymes that ooze with creativty and something different and thats all that gave this song any life at all. I might be a bit young, but i did not enjoy this beat. So what if Swizzy can do the production for a full track in under 20mins? Is he in that much of rush?
ummmm maybe he wont get his carrer on track w this one. u could tell this is one of those beats thats was shelfed n put away cuz it was wack. it sounds like he did it ina home studio two thumbs down. n yea who is that random ass girl
maybe it's just my speakers, but the hollowness of this track is driving me crazy. i hate when it sounds like a bunch of people standing in a garage...
I don't know what to think about this beat. I guess Pap was okay. He did what he could for the beat. And Burmy Brett should have stayed retired. Last year was all he had left.
I'm a packers fan too. Jets have no talent. What did Brett do with lack of talent in Green Bay? Nothing!! Case closed! I love brett! He should have took the retirement money!!!!
On second listen it might be better with possibly a heavier bass hit and take off the chic talking about "knuck if you buck boy" it sounds in way too happy a tone. If this was fight music cool but with the Matilda sound in the back and the weak snare; it's an absolute formula for disaster.
