Quick as most mainstream rappers are to flaunt their hood origins, about 95% of them know that, in order to make it big, they’ll have to get their minds out of the gutter. Just ask up-and-coming MC Paper Chase—though Milwaukee has yet to achieve recognition as a Midwestern hip-hop hotspot, Pape is determined to put his hometown in that spot. Though he acknowledges that one can’t change one’s past, the emcee nonetheless has a message for his fellow up-and-comers: it’s Time To Switch It Up and move away from the typical “hip-hop topics” of street hustling and hood wars. Soundz’ heavily-syncopated beat will undoubtedly get Time To Switch It Up rado rotation in Mil-Town and a few other Midwestern market—hopefully its message will reach industry bigwigs as well. Paper Chase’s new album, Midwest Livin’, drops later this spring.

The hook is hot and the production by Soundz is off the chain. Its really catchy and the beat go hard! Paper Chase's lyrics dont impress me at all and he ruined a hot beat!

Big ups to dude for tryin to put my city on the map... I mean all we got so far is "In My Projects" and "Mr. Wendal" so another national hit would be nice...
This, however, is not it. The production is very cool, and uses that sample perfectly to add to the vibe of the song. While I like the message that Paper Chase is tryn ta get across in this song, his flow just aint workin for me. He's apparently been voted Milwaukees most influencial rapper as of late, but I cant see him goin big wit that flow. Not too bad, just nothin special. |

Don't know what you're listening to...this is CLASSIC right there! Strong message & flow, as well as banging production by Soundz! (I know I'm kinda biased because I stay close by Milwaukee, but it's still a good jam in my book)
