Earlier this week, we heard Jhené Aiko wax poetic about the pleasures of kicking back, hitting a blunt and doing a whole lot of nothing with her man on Booth-approved EP single Bed Peace. Turns out, she’s not the only pop songstress who appreciates the beauty of idleness. On her Booth debut and latest single, Hit of You, unsigned singer Paloma Ford paints a similarly indolent picture of romantic bliss. The record’s instrumental backdrop, a mellow blend of percussion, understated strings and chopped-n-screwed vocal samples, comes courtesy of production duo D&D. An uncredited male vocalist contributes some glittering, overdubbed harmonies to the chorus. Has this languid selection left you fiending for more? Then stay tuned; Hit of You is unattached to any larger project, but we’ll keep you posted on Paloma’s plans as further details emerge.
