The Outlawz - 100 MPH
Artist: The Outlawz
Producer: Cozmo
Album: Perfect Timing
Label: One Nation Ent.
The Outlawz refuse to fade. More than a decade since we first heard the west coast crew riding with Pac, and more than two years after their last DJBooth feature (‘08s We Want In), emcees Kastro, Young Noble, E.D.I. Mean, and Stormey are once again revving up to release a new album, and they’re in top gear on new single 100 MPH. Featuring a more radio/ladies friendly vibe than hardcore fans may be familiar with, 100 is built on a winding, slowly burning beat courtesy of Cozmo; in other words, it’s just the kind of production Pimp B
Bun B sounds at home on. The Outlaw foursome follow with some frankly well-traveled “I need a ride or die chick” rhymes, and then the golden-voiced Lloyd jumps in to spread the vocal icing all over this musical cake. The appeal is evident, but will it be enough to once again make The Outlawz a household name? We’ll find out soon. Considering this chronologically oriented write-up, it’s only right that The Outlawz’ upcoming album is titled Perfect Timing and will be dropping, well, whenever the time is right.

Bun B and Lloyd both belong in the guest feature Hall of Fame. Its no wonder each of them has turned in about 1,000 guest feature nods this year alone - their efforts are always super solid, their contributions don't feel like throwaway efforts, and they only compliment the featured artist (not stealing the spotlight). While The Outlawz by themselves don't excite me any longer, an album full of tracks like "100 MPH" will find itself an audience.

Ok, DJ Z you said it perfectly. They are amazing at what they do to help out the artist they feature on. They made this song so much better than if they werent on it, For sure. This is such a great record. If The Outlawz want success, then they better do more of this. The production from Cozmo Beats is wonderful. This is a overall great song. Good luck!!

Can I be honest? Of course I can. This sounds like a hit Lloyd and Bun B record to me, but I feel like The Outlawz don't do much to increase the track's appeal (if not take away a little).

Lloyd is always ridiculous for me i share the same sentiment as most on here, outlawz need an angle dno wot it is but they need it. I do want them to make it but frankly without the greatest (imo) they just dont seem to be something special but i will always give them a litsen because of theyre previous collabs. I hope lloyd picks up his solo career his good songs are amazing but everything else is just rotation good

I Don't Like The Outlawz. Because In All Of Pac's Songs With His Best Verses The Outlawz Come In And Kind Of Ruin The Song A Little. Like Hit Em Up, Pac Was Going Off On Biggie But Then The Outlawz Come In And It Doesn't Feel Like A Diss Song Anymore. Lloyd Was Perfect For The Hook And Bun B Did His Usual, Which Is Good. I Agree With Mr Smith On This. 2.5/5.

OUTLAWS - THUG LIFE IN DIS BEOOTCH! JERSEY STAND UP! OK, now that I got that out the way, Bun B is my BOY. He always spit smoothly and to the point. This production is nice and really reminds me of some Pac type joint. Lloyd sounds great on the chorus. The outlaws sound good on here too, but they gotta get FATAL back too! BANGER Status!

Not something I'd expect from The Outlawz, I can understand theyre trying to adapt to the times but they sound even more outdated in this format.

It's a little above average, nothing special. Lloyd sounds at home on this as usual. Love the smooth beat and its always good to hear the Outlaws and Bun B
