If you met Outasight on the street, you’d never guess that he was a rapper. Judging from his Myspace page, the New York City artist looks like he’d fit in better at a Men’s Warehouse than at a hip hop venue. But, like your mama always said, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. As it turns out, not only can Outasight rap, but he can sing too. Sure, he may not be Sinatra (even if he dresses like him), but his voice is good enough to qualify him as a bona fide multi-talent. If multi-talents are your type of thing, check out his new single, Good Evening (Dream Big). Lyrically, he keeps things simple, spitting some optimistic rhymes with vague undertones of class envy. Producer D Will contributes an unobtrusive beat. Good Evening (Dream Big) appears on Outasight’s new album, Radio New York.
charlie e.: u oughta have posted "love or confusion?" instead!! i got his album, it has a monotone beat throughout but individually they're good works of genius!!!
I can't get on point with this guy, the male version of Amy Winehouse. I wanted to give him a second chance when I heard his other song that was on here a while back, but this was his second chance and it flopped again for me. He does have a creative style which I appreciate, but I wouldn't throw this into a rotation.
Mmmm...its like a blend of lounge singing and rap that I really can't stand. Unique sound, but I think this guy is better suited singing Sinatra covers in Vegas...
Dubby1, Charlie and the DJBooth don't randomly select songs from artists' new albums. Their people send us the music and suggest the songs they'd like for us to feature. With that said, I agree, there are a bunch of other really great songs on Outasight's new album. This has a great laid back feel, very enjoyable.
I stopped this after 1:07, it's really not for me. I didn't like the melody and the beat either. But I can't say it's garbage because he did some efforts!!
Very Good Track..I think alot of comment are driven off the blog written..I think his production and creativity is different and unique and thats what hip hop is lacking..its like the saying goes if everyone was the same the world would be a boring place..I have heard him before and will say even though the song is very good he leaves room for opportunity
I love Outasight's original style musically and just in general. I definitely love the vibe and the production is awesome. I see WOW is back to just giving stupid responses on impulse like "Oh no, this sux!" like some ignorant child who doesn't know common sense. I won't respect it until you start stating valid reasons for not liking something and start typing like an adult...real talk. This is fresh though. His swagger reminds me of a cross between Robin Thicke, Amy Winehouse, John Legend & Andre 3 Stacks. Swagger entails his skills overall, not just musically, but in general as well.
YO! people.
open your eyes. anyone with this kind of ability needs to be appriciated.
just because snoop dogg doesn't sing his own hooks makes him better than Outasight?
that's what your saying.
and his voice is definatley up there in terms of ability.
Keep up the work OU!
