Our society’s moving faster with every passing day, and evidence of our accelerated lifestyle can be found pretty much anywhere you look—even on the dancefloor.  After all, what’s “grinding” if not a means by which to bypass the woefully inefficient process of, you know, talking to someone, and skip straight to foreplay?  O’Neal McKnight knows exactly what I’m talking about—on new single Throw It Back, making its world premiere right here in the Booth, the Check Your Coat singer teams up with Bay Area icon Too Short to explore the obvious parallels between getting down and getting it in.  While McKnight’s Auto-Tuned vocals and his collaborator’s rapped bars are club-hop gold, it’s Scram Jones and Phoenix’ minor-key synths that make TIB catchier than your average body-moving jam.  A song featuring the line “Let’s dance like we’re havin’ sex.” is unlikely to get the OK for high-school dance rotation, but those seeking something a little grown-and-sexier will undoubtedly find it on McKnight’s Prom King LP (which has yet to receive a release date from SRC/Universal Motown).

I feel like I'm one of the few people on here who likes Oneal (despite his vocal abilities)because of his style and marketability. I'm glad he scooped up a name like Too Short on here to get more buzz, but I was feeling this record from the start. Production work is top notch, and Oneal is well on his way to club appeal.

People have been sleeping on O'Neal for far too long. We've been supporting his grind for about three years now, but there still seems to be no traction. He knows how to make enjoyable ear-candy for the club, but in a way that that doesn't scream corny.

Sidebar: Good to hear from Too Short.

I feel this song could go in the clubs but the melody is a lil boring. I could only save the hook!

Too short is too lame and Oneal is too amazing to be collaborating w/ such artists/producers. His voice his style is like no one else. Should of blown up after Check you Coat. Someone get this guy a real producer so he can stay on top where he belongs. As far as the track goes, if they were aiming for a club banger, I don't about all that. Maybe a "small bar in the dirty south" banger
