After turning down an offer to rejoin his old home at Roc-A-Fella Records, State Property alumnus Omillio Sparks decided to do the independent thing on his solo debut, The Payback. The first single, DJ Turn It Up, has the sound of an East Coast club banger with an energetic beat (courtesy of Versatile & Dilemma) and energy-driven lyrics. Sparks gives multiple name-drops to his indie label, Colossal Entertainment, stating that even though he doesn’t have a problem with his old label; he can do it big without them. The Payback is set to drop August 28.
