Oddisee - We On To Something

With all the hot, new DMV talent we’ve been showcasing lately, our regulars may have been wondering when we’d feature another record by the D.C. up-and-comer who announced that, “Hip-Hop’s Cool Again” back in March.  Well, wonder no longer—Oddisee is back!  On the first leak off FWMJ’s Rappers I Know and Funkadelic Freestyles’ forthcoming mixtape, the emcee tells us what those who tuned in for his acclaimed first feature already know: “We On To Something.”  Once again showcasing his skills on both sides of the boards, Odd backs his lyrical braggadocio with a characteristically old-school-informed blend of reverb-drenched percussion and chopped samples.  Odd’s clearly got the skills to play a major role in his DMV’s rise to hip-hop dominance, and he’s even willing to help his neighbors get a leg up—anybody else, no promise.
