I’ve had a pretty hectic past couple of days, so I really needed something to listen to that would help me slow down and just relax; thank God for Oddisee‘s Slow It Down. From his label’s forthcoming compilation album Self Sacrifice, which you can actually purchase in digital form now on iTunes, Oddisee gives us a head bobbin groove that’s perfect to help unwind and reflect. Produced by the headliner himself, the instrumental starts off like an old record or 8-track that isn’t quite playing at the right tempo. However, when the drums come in you realize what the DMV native was up to and the instrumental comes together nicely with a combination that isn’t too upbeat, but also not too mellow. Oddisee’s flow is dope as well, as he talks about his goals and his path to where he wants to be. While he is “cruising,” Oddisee proves that sometimes it’s better to just slow it down and chill for a bit. So make sure to pump your brakes and check out more high quality hip-hop like Slow It Down on Mello Music Group‘s Self Sacrifice album out March 27, or via iTunes right this second.
