After leaving Shady Records as the highest selling solo artist not named Eminem, Obie Trice is now looking to catapult himself to the top of the rap game on his own. On his newly-leaked album cut, I Am, the second leak off his new album following the vengeful Got Hungry, Trice sounds motivated to achieve solo greatness and proves it by coming out with fast and ferocious rhymes. Produced by newcomer MoSS, the beat mixes in vocals and instrumentals to form an awesome sound, enhanced by DJ Grouch, whose cuts and scratches flow great here. Trice doesn’t take many cheap shots at Shady Records here, although he does rhyme that Shady, “Took Obie Trice for granted.” As intense as he is on the track, Trice also takes the time to return to his humorous side, dropping clever lines like “I never lose fat, like Subway Jared.I Am will appear on Trice’s forthcoming project Special Reserve, due out December 15.

@Menilik MHD - I'm fairly certain that Obie does not give a sh*t about radio haha.

Obie went off on here. Had some real tight lines and the production was very solid. Also enjoyed the scratches.

Strong production. Strong verses. Obie is a true artist; he doesn't care if this will pick up at radio. Fact of the matter is: real hip-hop fans will check out the album anyways.

Yo, Obie's killing it lately. If he's legitimately heated at Shady Records he's channeling it into some sick flows. I'll be honest, I didn't know he could do it like this. Dopeness.

Some hard rhyming and Obie's ability to channel all his energy into his delivery, but the production failed to impress me. It was a little too distracting. Rotation-Stuff.

This is the Obie Trice that Shady Records never wanted to release (yeah, that line applies in two different ways).

His flow is very energetic and fits the production, but the production is a lil too noisy! Agree with Mr Top Hat, it's distracting

The beat is too ill and Obie went hard! Special Reserve coming Dec. 15th! MoSS produced some of Obie's early stuff before Obie got signed to Shady. This was like in '98-'99. I did not know this until quite recently.

Wow! Welcome back Obie Trice! This beat is cool, but chorus screaming could get annoying over time. Obie's flow is and always has been good. BANGER $HIT. Can't wait to hear his new stuff...It's been a while.
