As a sorta socially-awkward youngster, I enjoyed my share of all-night video game binges, and it sounds like T!Katz emcee o8o can relate—on his first solo feature (making its online premiere right here in the Booth), the Atlanta-based rapper states with pride that, from dusk till dawn, “I’m On It.”  o8o’s own chip music-meets-garbage disposal production would have made the perfect soundtrack to my days as a bleary-eyed NES addict, but its driving 8-bit grind is an equally fitting accompaniment to the artist’s account of sleepless nights spent questing for musical success.  Pushing his aggressively bouncy, swagger-dripping Southern flow to the limit, o8o spits a retro-trendy series of allusive boasts—if you can appreciate the slightly nerdy appeal of a “Wu-Tang/Liu Kang” couplet, this is undoubtedly the record for you; even if o8o’s hipsterish brand of braggodocio isn’t your cup of tea, though, you owe it to yourself to stick around for his bangin’ bad-cartridge breakdown on the back end.  This Is My Sh*t has yet to receive a solid release date, but fans can keep it locked to the Booth for more from both o8o and the T!Katz.

Sometimes different is bad. In this case, different couldn't be more good. Love the lyrics (reminded me of my Sega days) and the vibe is throwback futuristic (if that makes any sense).

The flow and the lyrics are what save this for me. I normally love the "hipsterish" vibe, but this production isnt all that for me. They focused so much on the video game sounds that it loses some of its musicality/melody. His flow and lyrics are tight tho, and its funny when he calls out a few rappers.

This could of been better I think they overdid the video game idea. The lyrics are pretty good but I'm not really feeling this. Creative concept though

It is creative. Respect to him for that. I'm probably not old enough to really feel the throwback sega appeal (never owned one), but it can go into rotation.

Glad I'm almost done rating songs because I'm starting to get really pissed off at the damn Cavs right now and that could affect my ratings.

I'm all for different. But the production needs to be more smooth. Not a lot of people will feel this.

It's cool though. Not something that would become "My Jam", but I can rock with it. Hope to hear homey over something easier to digest next time though.

The production is different. I have never heard something like this, it has much energy. Anyway I don't know if I'd listen to this again. The song is creative, maybe it could grow on me by more listens! His flow is cool! Yes, this deserves 3 stars for the attempt
