Could it be? Could the ‘80s staple, once a retro punchline, be back in style? As those more fashion-savvy than I may be aware Members Only was resurrected way back in ‘04, and the brand only seems to have gained momentum in the years since. On their first Booth feature, the NU Revolution Camp celebrate the comeback by making a little Members Only Jacket Music. Over an exotically out-the-box string-sampled beat by Benny Rome, reader-approved crewmates Whitefolkz, Wordsmith, Kontact and Black Knight give us a guided tour of their wardrobes. Stunting may be the primary focus, but the fearsome foursome’s shifting rhyme schemes and memorable turns of phrase (not to mention the classy instrumental vibe) make this a cut above your average ode to couture. Does this cut make you want to run out and purchase a Members Only jacket of your very own – or, if you’re old enough to have an original specimen, dig it out of the back of your closet? Then you’ll undoubtedly appreciate the new material NRC are set to showcase on SuperHero Theme Music Vol. 1, coming soon.

I've never had a Members Only jacket (and I don't know anyone who does these days), but one listen to this record and I'd strongly consider stopping by a Goodwill store and picking one up. All four emcees have a noticeable chemistry and the production takes a wild turn during the chorus and bridge that offers a foreign feel. I like it and I'll endorse it.

Never heard of these guys, but highly impressed. That opening is pretty dope, and the crazy beat is made for an emcee to rip. Only problem is the half ass hook, which works for Soulja Boy and Plies, but I was expecting more even for a group I've never heard of. Still, very impressive track and look forward to more.

If they're smart they'll be selling members only jackets at shows - with a cut like this those things will go like hotcakes. While this had the chance to be gimmicky, it's anything but. Catchy beat and solid vocals all around.
By the way, nice to hear a Tim Hardaway reference. I'm a fan of any old school NBA reference.
