Recently signed to Dallas Austin‘s Rowdy Records, Atlanta native Novel is a jack-of-all-trades in urban music. As a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer he has worked with numerous big names, from Smokey Robinson to Alicia Keys. Ready to get his debut album The Audiobiography in stores this summer, Novel utilizes his multiple talents to let a woman know her man’s treating her wrong. However- surprise, surprise -he isn’t trying to move in right away, but instead thinks the lady should be Solo for the time being. With all that skill plus originality to match, look for Novel to be one of the bigger names in hip-hop & R&B in the near future.
Novel has serious talent. He is a quadurple threat and will make his name known this summer. Stay tuned to the Booth for more material from Novel in the weeks to come.
Interesting beat, reminds me of ambient/chillout sounds. As an rnb singer though, he's rather forgettable. In the sea of good rnb male singers out there, he doesn't stand out, his voice lacks true emotion. Lyrics are actually decent; average song.
A neo-soul brother coming with some serious vocals. He didn't the production too. I am modestly impresed. I am digging this beat and his singing. He is up there with Musiq, Raheem D, Anthony H, and D'angelo but he hasn't reached MAXWELL status. 3.5 rating.
The production sounded cool at first, until the space invader sound came in. His vocals are very solid and I am definitely digging the drum kits used for this one. I'll look out for more from this guy. The lyrical content of this song was dope as well.
He has a beautiful voice but the song isn't the best...it's in rotation! Da Bo$$ isn't didgeridoo that Australian instrument, similar to a flute? When I was at school my Australian English teacher brought it for us but I don't remember its sound
First Impression: This song is horrible.
Second Impression: I think i missed something...
Third Impression: There's something missing in his vocals when he's not rapping.
I'm not really feeling this song but i'm not writing him off just yet.
Based on what I know of his pass projects as an artist. My over-all OPINION; it's definately less than what "I know" he's capable of doing. I expected better than this as a "first single" release on Rowdy. They haven't made much real noise as a lable, since Monica. What's up with that? Just keepin it True...no dis-respect.
