Novel - Think We Landed
Artist: Novel
Producer: Novel & Tony Reyes
Album: Unreleased
Label: Unsigned
If we lived in a sane and just world, The Audiobiography would have dropped in 2009 like it was supposed to, Novel would be a household name because of it, and I’d be a multi-millionaire. Well, maybe that last part is a bit of a stretch… but regardless life ain’t fair, and thus fans of the ATL Renaissance musician have to content themselves with fantasies of the obscenely dope album that could have been. Originally slated for inclusion on the album, unreleased cut Think We’re Landing finds the Booth fave on some trippy space ish; over his and co-producer Tony Reyes’ infectious bass-percussion bounce, the freestyle series alumnus lets his weird side shine as he invites a special lady to hop into his ship for the ride of a lifetime. And if that’s not quirky enough for you, he tops it all off with a catchy, Auto-Tune-garbled bridge – cliché as that may sound, it could hardly be more appropriate here. While this stellar joint won’t be appearing on any project, those digging it should keep their browsers locked to the Booth for all the latest from Novel – including release details on his forthcoming full-length, Caligraphy.

I know that Novel doesn't fit into the box that labels try to place the artists that they sign, but how in the world has nobody heard his talent (either here in the Booth or around the net, where thousands of features have been published) and said "We are just going to let you do you and make it work"!? Seriously, I don't understand it. There are enough "unreleased" cuts, that we have featured, to create a terrific, cohesive retail release... which could spawn a national tour, thousands of adoring fans, and a legion of worldwide supports. Novel, what is the deal yo?!
* Z has jumped off his soapbox, sorry. |

Um....not really sure how I can follow that rant from Z. He's absolutely right - as regular readers know, Novel can do bedroom burners, hip-hop joints and uptempo dance jams. His versatility is unparalleled.

I was happy with Novel's last record. And im very happy with this one as well. The beat and verses are smooth with a great energy. It makes it a very enjoyable song. And i can see myself listening to this agian. But not forever. The production is very nice from Novel & Tony Reyes. A deff Banger for me. Keep it up Novel.

Eventually the plane has to land and eventually Novel has to get signed to a label. Probably sooner rather than later.

I’m feeling this, it’s a more up tempo move for Novel but it certainly works.

I never know what to expect when it comes to novel. As far as this track goes, the techno vibe is really throwing me off.
