The do-it-yourself era in music, lost for several decades due to the record industry letting money flow like water, is once again upon us. No longer are artists being signed who cannot contribute multiple skill sets (even Soulja Boy is versatile). A perfect example is Rowdy/Capitol Records recording artist, Novel, whose resume includes rapping, singing, songwriting and producing. On a remix to his single, Fighters, Novel and feature guest Joell Ortiz display why well-rounded talent trumps singular skills. Following a short stint with Rawkus Records, the multi-talented performer is busy polishing off his new album, The Audiobiography, set for release this November. Can’t wait until then? Well, you’re in luck; the Atlanta native just released Chapter One, a mixtape with DJ Green Lantern.
this is soo nice when that beat picks up within midway of his first rap verse, it's a pretty sick song, something different for once, and I happen to like it.
I really, really like this track right here. I am surprised. These guys have a HOT fast flow and the beat is sick AND the chorus just flows nicely. This is a BANGER here and it could do well on any radio station or in anyone's MP3 player!...(really good flow!)
Shout out to Lupe Fiasco and Matthew Santos! Terrific record from two underground rappers with huge futures ahead of them. Joell Ortiz, you are a beast on the mic!
borrowed straight outta FNF; is it called remix cuz its a remix of lupe's track? i mean they left the chorus intact..
the tracks good though like the flow of these 2 and tweaked beat. in rotation status but i'd rather give a 4-star lol
This is fire 4 real! Novels voice is somethin special on this track! I especially enjoyed listenin to lupe's version then listining to this one right afterward it flows really nicely together! I would have actually like to have seen lupe do a verse for this version. Very good rendition.
