The famous Bonnie and Clyde must be the perfect example of a gangsta couple, because artists keep making songs about them. In his self-produced single, Bonnie, rapper Nova characterizes his leading lady as the perfect example of a ride-or-die chick. Not only does she stand strong through the good and bad, putting her man at the top of the list (right after God, of course), but Nova claims she doesn’t even have to be his wife or girlfriend. With this debut single, the Louisville native proves his skills in front of and behind the mic. His currently untitled album is set to be released this August.
Old school samples can be tactfully done, or in some instances, they can simply ruin the sample. On this new Nova cut, its certainly the positive version. Watch out for Nova peeps, he is being courted heavy by some major players...
I'm always a sucker for a midwest sounding soulful sample produced beat! Nova's flow is definitely nice and sincere. I'm highly digging this joint. We need more joints like this!
Feeling this. The concept, the old school feeling and the lyrics. I appreciate any song dedicated to a female thats respectful. I agree the hook could've been better, but I'll still sing it.
Not a bad track but not a good one either...it sounded from the beggining like International Players Anthem...but nonetheless the chorus is the worst part to me
I gotta give him credit for his ability. He has a great flow. The lyrics arent crazy, but dudes like this are grindi, and for that i gotta give him credit. He is unsigned, and is better than 50% of the rappers in the game right now. His production is hott! These are the kinda rappers that remind me that I really am not worthy of rating anyone below a 2. He is descent, and yall are givin him no credit. This is bangin in my mind. Give tha guy some credit.
I respect artists who don't mind using a sample to enhance the talent they ALREADY HAVE! Some artists take samples and use them to make up for failing lyrics or simply a lack of talent altogether. Nice production, nice flow. I kinda like it.
