S1 and Poocat
Hear Ye Him

While the Clipse is still active, the Brothers Thornton haven’t appeared on a cut together since 2009’s Till the Casket Drops LP. (Side note: can you believe that dropped four years ago?) On the latest single off No Malice‘s forthcoming solo debut, Shame the Devil, he and Pusha T rejoin forces to do battle against the forces of darkness. Over S1 and Poocat‘s beat, a moody synth arrangement with a dancehall-sampled chorus, the headliner delivers hard-hitting bars laced with Biblical references. Though Pusha doesn’t exactly show up in his church clothes, he makes clear that his sibling’s spiritual awakening hasn’t come between them on the penultimate verse: “Gene found God, they thinking we at odds / Must ain’t know my father, he ain’t never spared a rod.” Featuring this cut, previous single Smoke & Mirrors and much more, Hear Ye Him is pre-orderable now in anticipation of its August 18, release via Reinvision.
