NIQUE - I Know What You Like
Artist: NIQUE
Producer: Mr. Music
Album: Untitled (TBD)
Label: Flo Deep Music Group
Nique may still be keeping mum about his plans for the material he’s been holed up in the studio recording over the past six or seven months but, as he reminded us with last month’s NO!, the Las Vegas representative knows exactly what it takes to please the discerning hip-hop head. As the artist puts it on his latest unreleased joint,”I Know What You Like.” As on this cut’s predecessor, Mr. Music handles productions, trading the frantic, rock-informed grooves of NO! for a lower-key synth arrangement as the artist asks a certain female to “...be [his] everything.” In conversational bars, the freestyle alum mixes soul-searching with smooth-talk, mulling over his ambivalence in regard to commitment before extending a formal offer: “I got the love pistol loaded, you could be the one I draw for.” A weird line, to be damn sure—but if she (ahem) pulls the trigger, the artist will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that she’s a keeper. This joint is yet-unattached to any forthcoming project, but if Nique and Mr. Music keep cranking out tunes this fresh, fans may start clamoring for a full-length collaboration. As always, Booth readers get the last word…

I'm a Nique fan, but this is just bland.

I like the beat but I feel like he needs to bring it harder.

I happen to like all the elements (Nique, the production, the hook), but not together (oops). I think Nique is best suited with production that is a little bit more lively (not flashy) and upbeat. I felt like Nique wanted to take the song somewhere else, but was restricted by the music.

I'm a big fan of his work, and in my opinion this song is just awesome. Great hook, and even though he raps a lot better on beats that are a bit faster, he did well here as well.

Personally I prefer Nique when he speeds his flow up on a more upbeat prod. Of course you gotta break your boundaries so i respect that but I'm not feeling this too much.

Not Nique's best, but its not bad by any means. It is a little flat, but the hook is catchy and although Nique is better suited for faster beats, he still does his thing. I'm looking forward to hearing more form Nique. He impressed me with NO!, and this, while not as good, is still a solid track.

Like this. The hook is a plus, but it's the production that really makes this song.

Though I dont love Nique's lastest effort his lyrics are still on point. I think I have heard many tracks like this before. Infact it feels like something more suited for Fabolous.
