Of course, those who want to not only survive but thrive in the game need more than steely determination – as the New West representative demonstrates on Feelin’ Myself the latest single off his long-awaited debut set, an ironclad faith in one’s own freshness is equally crucial. Over the bouncy synth-clap boardwork of increasingly-ubiquitous production heavyweight 1500 or Nothin’, Hussle engages in a little self-love (get your minds out of the gutter, kids), flaunting his cash, his looks, and his skills with the ladies (”Before you hit first base, I done scored two runs”). Topped off with a guest hook by Young Goldie singer Lloyd and a smooth bridge by an uncredited female vocalist, this track may be a little poppier than Hussle’s usual, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t Feelin’ it – how about you, Booth readers?
