Yesterday, Left Coast buzzmaker Nipsey Hussle and his Slauson Boyz taught us a thing or two about Stayin Alive in the treacherous inner-city streets. Of course, those who want to not only survive but thrive in the game need more than steely determination – as the New West representative demonstrates on Feelin’ Myself the latest single off his long-awaited debut set, an ironclad faith in one’s own freshness is equally crucial. Over the bouncy synth-clap boardwork of increasingly-ubiquitous production heavyweight 1500 or Nothin’, Hussle engages in a little self-love (get your minds out of the gutter, kids), flaunting his cash, his looks, and his skills with the ladies (”Before you hit first base, I done scored two runs”). Topped off with a guest hook by Young Goldie singer Lloyd and a smooth bridge by an uncredited female vocalist, this track may be a little poppier than Hussle’s usual, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t Feelin’ it – how about you, Booth readers? More importantly, will this track be the one that finally gets the artist’s long-delayed South Central State of Mind LP a solid release date? Debate away!

Attention Nipsey Hussle management, Epic Records, and radio programmers nationwide: Please push this record. Pretty please. With sugar on top.

Let's face it, folks - Nipsey Hussle will never be a commercial radio killer. His style is too grounded in the street for the mainstream urban/pop audience to like him. But ya know what? Who cares! His vocals and his lyrics are dope and if ever there was a time for him to make a move with a record that had enough appeal and plenty of swagger, than "Feeling Myself" is just that!

This PSA was brought to you by Z.

This might be the track that takes Nipsey to the radios. The beat was radio friendly and he had a nice flow. Llody had smooth vocals. Banger

Always been a fan of Nipsey. One of the best representing the West coast nowadays.

Loving the beat to this song. Its an all around rap song. You could play it cruising around in your car, while at a party, or even in the club. The hook from Lloyd was much appreciated. Two talented young acts right here.

This is good. I gotta agreee with Z this probably is the most radio friendly nipsey will get, they should push this. ANd is llord trying to be feature artist of the year for 010? well if he isn't he's making a good case for himself. BANGER

3 guest hook features this week is a plus. The placement on 3 mediocre rapper's singles is not. This should be a Jeopardy question. Guaranteed Spins for $100 please. The R&B answer to Ludacris. Who is Lloyd?

If this gets pushed, I can see it getting some good spins on urban radio. The production & Lloyd's contribution were the highlights. This track wasnt Nipsey's strongest performance, though he didnt take anything away from a pretty solid song.

3.5

"I'm feeling this too Lloyd". Great song Mr. Hussle Just radio enough thanks to Lloyd, but still keeps it street. Nipsey is not the type of artist to compromise his style for the mainstream, so its a good idea to do these type of collabos so the mainstream doesn't miss out on great music. By the way good production too...1500 or Nothing, Holla!

For the record, this kind of record would definitely get spins in L.A. I can't speak for the rest of the country, but the beat plus that catchy Lloyd chorus plus some solid verses equals spins. We've been waiting for Nipsey to truly break through for a minute now, will it happen soon?

This is decent! It can definitely go into rotation. Catchy chorus and Lloyd does his thing once again! Nipsey Hustle is definitely going to appeal to the West Coast a lot more than everywhere else (as Nate pointed out). I just think he's OK...Nothing impressive here.

Pretty cool... This is probably the closest that Nipsey can come to a radio hit and that's perfectlty fine. He's a talented young artist and I'm a big fan so I'll be waiting for his debut to finally see the light of day. Lloyd was nice on the hook as always. 4/5 banger

NIPSEY!!! I think they are breaking ground with this track! Lloyd sounds the best on this track out of all the feature he was on this week. I got this on repeat right now. I usually like the gangsta underground Nipsey, but this is his chance to really take it world wide with this. I hope to see this on BET, and 106 and park, MTV, MTV2, Everywhere! Its a Hussle Movement!

This is dope man! The homie, Neighborhood Nip Hussle is back. I been waiting for him to drop for the longest. He is the dopest rookie that is sort of unknown. I agree with DJ Z, show Nipsey Hussle and this track some love and push this record. The beat is freaking fire man!

Not quite the "feeling myself" that Mac Dre gave me several years ago, but this is still a catchy track that could see some serious radio play.
