If I were to describe underground rap’s current mood in one word, it would be “exasperated;” from Auto-tune to tight pants to dance-themed hits, there are countless topics that seem to leave those below the mainstream radar constantly stressed. Booth favorite Nino Bless has also Had It Up to Here, but his gripes aren’t quite the same ones that have so many others steamed—no, scratch that: he has all the same gripes, plus several dozen more, some of which contradict one another. This mixtape leak finds Bless venting his dissatisfaction with everything in the industry (and beyond) over a piano-synth beat by Engineer—as he admits on the back end, he’s even sick of himself! Plenty of Bless’ barbs hit home, but those who listen closely may detect a satirical edge; while railing against the game, he also seems to be poking fun at himself and other rappers with a tendency to accentuate the negative. Those who like the cut of this Booth favorite’s jib should stay tuned for Latin Marksman 2 and Madlib collabo The Nomads, both slated to drop prior to the fall release of Untold Scriptures 2.

Although Nino has been slow to get us his freestyle for our series, I can't be mad at him with dope record after dope record dropped.

I don't agree wit everything he was spittin, but I strongly agree wit a lot of it. Anyway even though our opinions differ it ain't nuttin wrong wit channeling and ventin your frustration into a dope track. The beat is pretty sick, it sets a good complaining mood.

The great thing about music is that it allows you to vent and get out your frustrations in a proactive way. I agree with a lot of what he says and the beat really sets the mood.

We all here at booth are always down with that Underground sh*t 100%, but to keep it 100 they spend a whole lot of bars in nearly all of there songs bragging about how good they are or complaining about the state of the game. Although I love underground hip hop, i wish they utilized their talents in more ways than just self-admiration and over-done critical assesment ... Overall, its all goos as He even took a shot at himself saying you guys are probably sick of him bitchin and complaining ... lol “I’m sick of cats who’ll hear this and go “that topic’s been done before” (so what)” |
