No, you’re not suffering the after-effects from celebrating too much yesterday (unless you’re still celebrating), this track is real. The only question from me is where was Nikki Lynette during yesterday’s 4/20 festivities? With her newest single, Bird = Word 2.0, Lynette is out to prove that she isn’t the only Nikki/Nicki worthy of attention on the hip-hop scene (I prefer her, actually). With vocal spasticity that would make F. Baby’s head spin, the Freestyle Series alum absolutely destroys one of the more experimental street productions we’ve heard in a minute, courtesy of Matt Hennessey and the first extended Family Guy sample in music history. In addition to previous release Pick A Side, records like these turn listeners heads, which is good, because now everyone knows Nikki’s not to be slept on…and that the bird is the word. I'l give her props for going out on a limb at least. This would be hard to pull off for anybody, so it's not that disappointing that this track isn't very good. The sample wasn't even really worked into the song, it was more like a skit at the beginning and in the middle of it. The production overall wasn't that great actually. And Nikki wasn't that great over it either. 1.5.

Let's get one thing straight, I have heard much worse and this track is actually better than half the crap thats out right now. I hate the sample and I'm not that into Family Guy, but the verses and Nikki's charisma and delivery saved the track to an extent for me. Not bad.

Come on! Its creative & she has LYRICS while talking about TEAL subject matter. How can you vote the song down just because you don't like the Bird Is the Word song? This site disappointments me sometimes, if its not the same-old-same-old it seems like it does not get due props. This is fresh as hell. Whats up with the download link though?

She kinda sounds like Roxanne... I don't hate the beat, it's actually not bad and if a well-known artist like Redman jumped on it, he'd prolly slay it in to submission. This was ok...

I get the Peter Griffin sample but it was still kind of tacky. She definitely goes in but I really can't take this track seriously with the break in between and overall sample. The production kills the track.

Nikki Lynette's music sounds WAAAAAAAAY better than a LOT of this stuff that is sent to me DAILY on youtube. Do people even LISTEN to (lyrics) these days!? Some concentrate on the WRONG thing. I love this song! It's 100% true; girls/women are out there doing wild things to 'get in the game'. Nikki speaks on that subject PERFECTLY!
